This intermediate-level course was offered for the first time this year, and it was a fantastic weekend of learning, problem-solving, and creating. Hollow forms open up so many possibilities for making bold pieces without the weight.

We're already looking forward to bringing this class back in the fall.

Hollow Form Rings ✨

Coming up June 13 & 14!
Ready to take your fabrication skills to the next level? In this intermediate workshop, you'll learn how to create bold, sculptural rings using hollow construction techniques.

Hollow forms allow you to build larger, more dramatic pieces without the weight and cost of solid metal. Throughout the weekend, you'll learn how to form, solder, shape, and finish a hollow ring while developing skills that can be applied to pendants, earrings, bracelets, and other jewellery designs.
This is a fantastic class for students looking to expand their fabrication techniques and add more dimension and volume to their work.

Prerequisite: Jewellery 2: Silversmithing Fundamentals or equivalent soldering experience.

Patrick and Celicia joined us for a Wedding Band Workshop with our amazing instructor Holly .finejewelry and had so much fun creating their rings together.

From shaping and soldering to adding the final finish, they made their wedding bands with their own hands and created memories that will last a lifetime.

A truly memorable experience—and yes, they even ended up with matching little saw cuts on their fingers! 😅 Now that's commitment.

Check out Karen's pendant from our new HINGES Workshop ✨

Although this was a hinged earrings class, Karen decided to take the technique in a different direction and created this beautiful pendant featuring two incredible stones.

One of the best things about learning hinges is that they can be used in so many ways. Hinges add movement, create interaction, and bring an extra level of interest to your jewellery. From earrings and pendants to lockets, bracelets, and beyond, the possibilities are endless.

We’ve added a microscope to the studio and it’s now available during Open Bench sessions.

Whether you're setting tiny stones, refining a setting, inspecting details, or tackling precision work, having magnification like this can make a huge difference.
We’re excited to keep improving the studio and giving our community access to more tools and equipment.

Not just jewelry ✨

This final project from our Silversmithing Fundamentals course took a different direction — a custom keychain inspired by the Pacific Crest Trail. Layered metals, texture, and a strong sense of place all brought together in one piece.

At the end of each course, students design and create their own project. It’s a chance to explore ideas, try techniques, and make something meaningful with guidance along the way.
Rings, pendants, objects… whatever you’re imagining, there’s room to make it happen.

Movement, mechanics, and a whole new set of possibilities ✨

This Sunday in JEWELLERY 3: Hinged Earrings, learn how to make clean working hinges and add movement to your jewellery designs. This intermediate workshop is a great next step for students wanting to expand their fabrication skills and begin exploring techniques used in lockets, articulated pieces, and more.
You’ll create a pair of hinged earrings while learning about alignment, tubing, soldering precision, and construction methods that open the door to more advanced designs.
