An unedited photo of the green Squid — and a story etched beneath its dial.

If you look closely at the E in the Monarte logo, you’ll notice something unusual: it’s ever so slightly bent.

That wasn’t planned. That wasn’t part of the design brief.
It happened during the hand assembly of the very first Monarte Squid — the founder, Domen, was personally assembling this first production piece. In the process of placing the logo, a delicate slip of the tool bent the final letter. Just a hair. Just enough to notice — if you're looking for it.

The instinct might’ve been to replace it. To strive for clinical perfection. But instead, he paused.

That tiny imperfection felt... poetic. A reflection of the entire Monarte journey — imperfect, human, relentless. So it stayed.

Today, that very same piece — with its bent E — is worn by Domen as his daily watch. It’s not just a watch. It’s a time capsule. A reminder of every late night sketch, every quiet doubt, every push to do things differently — and better.

So yes, the E is a little bent. But it carries the weight of beginnings, of purpose, and of a vision made real.

And maybe, just maybe, that’s exactly what gives it soul.
