The anthracite-black dial contrasts fine sandblasting with circular graining, creating subtle reflections and captivating depth. A Grade 5 titanium case, anthracite-black PVD-coated calendar displays and delicate white gold accents complete its understated aesthetic.

What makes Oechslin’s annual calendar special is its remarkable simplicity. Instead of a complex system of levers and springs, its calendar function is driven by a gear train built around just five specially designed components.

The eclittica
The eclittica is an astronomical table clock that brings together many of the subjects Ludwig has been exploring for decades: time, astronomy and the history of watchmaking.
This connection is reflected in the indications of the eclittica. In addition to hours and minutes, it displays the starry sky visible above the horizon, sunrise and sunset, moonrise and moonset, solar and lunar eclipses, the seasons, and the phases of the moon.
The eclittica has now reached a stage where we expect to begin the first production run in the foreseeable future.
For this reason, we are taking a different approach to ordering the clock. Production slots for the first run of the eclittica will be allocated by reservation. This allows us to plan production in advance while securing a place in the upcoming production run for customers who have already expressed a concrete interest.
The first deliveries are planned for 2027.

Ready for some color? The settimana junior special Edition

The dial and weekday disc are rendered in the typical ochs und junior blue, complemented by enlarged Arabic numerals, which Oechslin himself designed on his CNC machine. The date dot, numerals, and hands are strikingly orange (see our blog from December 18, 2008). The watch is powered by an ETA 2824-2 Top Grade movement, and the strap is crafted from orange Ecopell leather by Sabina Brägger. The customer’s name and the edition date will be engraved on the case back. Naturally, the watch is delivered in the famous, specially designed settimana junior comic booklet by Sjoerd van Rooijen (first edition 2009 – see blog from July 3, 2009; updated editions 2012 and 2024).

This timepiece is a true piece of our history.

Originally crafted for a Canadian client with a keen eye for ochs und junior’s prototypes, this watch carries a story of innovation and craftsmanship.

In the past, we have already provided insights into our prototypes. One of the watches designed by Ludwig Oechslin featured a strikingly patinated, rhodium-plated dial.

All functional parts of this watch are made from patinated, rhodium-plated metal. The sun at 12 o’clock and the full moon were carefully polished with elderberry wood after the patination process.

The case, screw-down crown, and buckle are crafted from sterling silver 925. With an uncolored sturgeon leather strap, the entire watch is made without adding any color—pure, natural materials in their most authentic form.
