A touch of blue. A tradition worth preserving.

The Felsa 4017 in the DBF011 features hand-blued screws, created using a traditional technique from classical watchmaking. Each screw is carefully heated to around 300°C to achieve its characteristic deep blue colour.

At our workshop, this historic craft is deliberately kept alive. Our watchmakers blue each screw by hand, bringing a traditional finishing technique back to life and giving every movement its own character.

The story of the DBF010 begins with its movement.

At its heart beats the historic Record 1959-2, an automatic calibre manufactured by Record Watch Co. in Switzerland in the 1970s.

The story of Record Watch Co. goes back to 1903, when the company was founded in Tramelan. Over the decades, Record developed its own mechanical calibres and became an established Swiss watch manufacturer.

In 1961, Longines acquired a majority stake in the company, while the Record name continued to be used.

Today, the Record 1959-2 movements have found a new life at DuBois et fils, where each movement is carefully serviced, revised and documented before becoming part of a new timepiece.

Born in the 1970s. Preserved for the future.

Two of Switzerland’s oldest stories came together for one unforgettable evening.

DuBois et fils, Switzerland’s oldest watch manufacturer, met Donati Vini, Switzerland’s oldest Italian w**e merchant, for a fresh take on tradition.

From the watchmaking atelier to an Italian w**e tasting, followed by dinner and carefully selected w**e pairings — it was an evening where craftsmanship, heritage and taste came together.

A dial made by hand.

The DBF008 dial is carefully lacquered by hand in multiple layers to achieve its deep, intense colour. Its delicate filigree pattern is pressed directly into the dial, creating a subtle sense of depth on a two-dimensional surface.

This is one of several traditional techniques used in the production of the DBF008.

Deep inside our workshop, we open boxes containing historic Swiss movements that have remained unused for decades. Each one is carefully disassembled, cleaned, assembled and fully revised by our watchmakers before beginning a new life in a DuBois et fils timepiece.

Alongside thousands of historic movements, our workshop is home to millions of original spare parts — preserving a remarkable piece of Swiss watchmaking history for the future.
