11.63 ct Natural Blue Spinel | GRS | Untreated
A night-sky blue. 💎
This 11.63 -carat cushion spinel is the quiet counterpart to the vivid red Spinel from my last post, with no-heat,this is a completely different kind of rarity. Blue spinel in this size is scarce. Most fine blues stay well under 5 carats. Stones that break 10 carats and stay untreated almost never come to market.
GRS-certified natural spinel.
The face-up footprint is generous — over 12 mm — so the color apear as a deep, even blue rather than a small spark. Mixed brilliant/step cutting keeps the reflection of light moving across the facettes.

5.55ct vivid Red Natural Spinel Burma/Myanmar from the legendary mines of Mogok. This 5.55ct cushion cut Spinel with out brown or Orange just electric light and fire in every Facet. No Treatment and Grs Certified. Burmese spinel of this size and saturation are very Scarce. There is very little production at the moment in Myanmar and because of the sanctions few new goods reach the market. This stone was kept in a save since 2015 and now finally is back for sale.

Green like the shallows. Blue like the deeper water. Light moving through crystal the same way it moves across the surface of the lake.

Over the years, my journeys to Burma (Myanmar) have shaped how I view the gemstone world. There is a certain magic in the air there, especially when you step into the legendary valley of Mogok—a place that has produced some of the most vibrant, electric spinels on Earth.
But the reality on the ground today is vastly different from when I first started traveling there.
Because of the ongoing political situation and heavy export restrictions, sourcing these treasures has become an uphill battle. The legendary „old inventory“ that dealers have relied on in the market is drying out incredibly fast. Every time I look at the current market, I am genuinely astonished at how quickly prices are rising and just how limited the supply has truly become. This is one of my first purchases around 2017 it still had the old Burmese cut to save weight (size) we freshly recut it to give it better proportions, brilliance and a vivid, saturated pinkish-red fire that dances with every turn of the tweezers. Now the final weight of this piece is 3.14ct. With Burma virtually closed off to new exports, acquiring a stone Becomes more difficult day by day.
