The September Hong Kong Jewellery Show enters its final day.

Over the past few days, we’ve had the pleasure of reconnecting with many old friends and meeting many new ones.

Some came for a ruby.
Some stopped for a sapphire.
And some simply sat down with us—to talk about gemstones, the market, and how our understanding of truly exceptional stones evolves over time.

For us, a jewellery show has never been just about displaying gemstones.
It is about giving those who genuinely appreciate and understand them the opportunity to see them in person, hold them in their hands, and experience their true character.

Photos and videos can capture color,
but a truly exceptional gemstone still deserves to be seen with your own eyes, held in your own hands, and observed under different lights.

That is one of the reasons P.N.GEMS continues to return to the Hong Kong Jewellery Show.

Great gemstones stand up to a closer look.
Great business stands the test of time.

Today is the final day of the show.
If you’re in Hong Kong, you’re always welcome to stop by P.N.GEMS—to see some beautiful stones and have a conversation.

The show is coming to an end,
but truly exceptional gemstones deserve much more time to be understood.

Not every star sapphire is rare. But this one is a different story.

Star sapphires are not, generally speaking, an exceptionally expensive category. A few hundred dollars per carat—or perhaps one or two thousand dollars per carat—is not unusual in the market.

But when a star sapphire combines exceptional crystal transparency, almost flawless clarity, an intensely saturated Royal Blue color, and a beautifully defined six-rayed star—and, on top of all that, comes from Burma (Myanmar)—then we are talking about something entirely different.

This extraordinary 14-carat unheated Burmese star sapphire is exactly that kind of stone: a rare convergence of color, clarity, transparency, asterism and origin.

I invite you to see it in person this September at the Hong Kong International Jewellery Show.

Rarity is not always about perfection. Sometimes, it’s about the match.

5.20 & 5.08 ct Burmese rubies.
No heat · Pigeon Blood Red.

Individually, they may not be defined by absolute perfection.
Together, however, they are remarkably matched in size, shape, color and overall appearance.

A fine ruby is rare.
Two that truly belong together are rarer still.
