Part (2/2)

The hour wheel of the FPA1 caliber, continued.

This is where the part is brought to its final form. The surfaces are finished and the wheel is cut from the blank at the lathe.

The work that leads up to it determines whether the component meets our tolerances. One wheel, from raw material to finished part.

Part (1/2)

The hour wheel of the FPA1 caliber.

This is what the production of a single wheel looks like. Raw material comes in, and what leaves the bench is a finished component that meets our own tolerances.

Watching this part take shape from start to finish gives a clear picture of how much work sits behind one wheel before it ever becomes part of a movement.

Every watch we build goes through the same finishing process by hand.

The same bevels, the same polished surfaces, the same controlled steps from start to finish. But because every part of that process is done by hand, each watch carries its own character. We do not see that as an inconsistency.

We see it as the natural result of work that is done with full attention at every stage. The dedication each watch receives does not change based on where it sits in the production order. Each one gets everything.

We put the same amount of time and care into the smallest parts of our watches as we do into the ones that are immediately visible.

Nothing is rushed, nothing is skipped. We know that a perfect watch is not something that can truly be achieved, but that does not change how we approach the work.

Every part that leaves our bench has been given everything we have.

The Mondphase 2 is where our original caliber architecture became real for the first time.

It started as a question of whether we could build something entirely from our own thinking, and this watch was the answer. Everything that followed grew from what we learned here.

The aventurine you see set into the mainplate of the Mondphase 2 does not arrive in that shape.

Producing an inlay to these tolerances requires a level of precision that leaves no room for error. A single cut that runs wide or a finish that falls short means starting over. We developed this component in close and constant exchange with groh + ripp, whose expertise in working with stone at this level made the result possible.

What looks like a seamless detail in the finished watch is the outcome of a process that demands exactly that kind of collaboration.

What you can see here is the full assembly process of the FPSK25 caliber, played back at 2000x speed.

In real time, this is a process that demands complete focus and constant control at every step. Each component is placed, checked, and verified before the next one follows. There is no stage in assembly where attention can be reduced.

The finished movement you see at the end of this video is the result of that discipline, applied consistently from the first screw to the last.

Two workshops. One shared standard.

We had the chance to document our collaboration with groh + ripp, the gemstone specialists who helped us produce two of the most precise components in the Mondphase 2. The aventurine inlay for the front of the mainplate and the moon itself both came to life through this partnership.

Working with a team that operates at that level of material knowledge and craft precision gave us access to results we could not have reached on our own. When two workshops bring their full focus and skill toward a single outcome, the result reflects both.

That is exactly what we set out to build, and exactly what we believe raising the standard looks like.

The Moon of the Mondphase 2 takes considerably more time to produce than it might appear.

We recently had the opportunity to film the production process at groh + ripp, and watching it unfold step by step made clear just how much handwork goes into a single component.

Cutting, finishing, and fitting a spherical moonphase to the tolerances we require is not a task that can be rushed. Every sphere that leaves that workshop has passed through the hands of skilled craftspeople before it ever reaches ours and ultimately yours.

The Klassik in its 38.5mm case reflects a dedication to traditional craftsmanship and timeless design. Its black frosted dial, paired with mirror-polished hour and minute indices, creates a balance of subtle elegance. Handcrafted, polished hands complete the look with quiet sophistication, making it a true reflection of thoughtful design.

Turning the watch over reveals a story of meticulous artistry. The handengraved 3/4 plate and balance bridge are adorned with polished bevels, showcasing the skill and care behind each piece. Even the screws in the click mechanism are made by hand. A small but significant detail that highlights the level of commitment and expertise that goes into its creation.

The Klassik in 38.5mm is not just a timepiece; it embodies refined craftsmanship and a timeless aesthetic, crafted to resonate with those who truly appreciate the art of watchmaking.
