Karkinos – Greek for crab.
For the Athina Collection, I looked beyond the mythology around Apollina. In Greece, I collected shells on the beach, watched living crabs and studied their structures, surfaces and mechanics.
Karkinos is not a chain. It’s made of single segments, each clipped into the next. Like a crab’s shell, it only bends so far, which gives it an almost snake-like movement.
The box clasp is custom-made for every piece. It took a lot of research and prototyping to construct it.
A small piece of armor that wraps around the wrist.
