one of my favorite everyday watches the Heuer Bundesweher Chronograph
In 1967, Heuer developed this chronograph, which was mostly black, on special requirements from the Bundeswehr and was designed particularly for pilots. It was initially equipped with the automatic Heuer 12 caliber (recognizable by the crown on the left at 9 o’clock), and later with the hand-wound Valjoux 230 movement, which had a flyback function. The model with the Chronomatic caliber 12 was not used by the Bundeswehr, but has only survived in a few individual collector’s pieces.
The „Bundeswehr Chronograph“ is characterized by excellent readability and ease of use, perfectly aligned with the authority’s specifications. Models that were equipped with dials and hands with active luminous material (tritium) have a red „3H“ symbol on the dial.
