Our endorser, academic musician, percussionist, and professor of percussion Jaka Strajnar has just released his new EP The Open Window — a collection of five original handpan compositions, all recorded with the Schlagwerk Handpan HP8DI Integral.

The recordings took place during an artist residency at the Alojz Kocjančič residency in Kubed, where nature itself became part of the music. The sounds of birds, air, and the surrounding atmosphere flow naturally into the recordings, creating a listening experience that feels deeply organic, intimate, and alive.

With its soothing D-Minor Integral tuning, the Schlagwerk Handpan HP8DI offers clear tonality, long sustain, and a calming, almost cathedral-like resonance — perfect for immersive musical storytelling, meditation, and deep listening.
