ADVOCATING FOR RECOGNITION OF YOUTH WORK
Organized by NaturKultur e.V.: “Recognition of youth worker/s" was much more than just a training course and a networking seminar. This fairly short project had only 5 working days but a big mission. 35 youth workers from Greece, Macedonia, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Romania, Latvia, Croatia, Netherlands and Germany with different backgrounds and levels of experience came together to create a white paper with suggestions to the European Commission, and other institutions on how to structure the recognition of the youth worker profession. The suggestions also highlighted the need for improvement of legislation on the national level in different countries and on the European level. Among other things, the youth workers learned how to advocate and lobby for their rights on the national and on the European level and were sharing tools and other approaches for dealing with crisis situations on youth projects.
