The 222: An Understated Icon

The 222 has become over the past 40 years one of the most recognizable timepieces. Designed by Jörg Hysek, an independent designer, the 222 was introduced in 1977 to mark the Maison’s 222nd anniversary.

From its monobloc case and integrated bracelet to its fluted bezel and Maltese cross emblem subtly placed on the lower right corner of the case, this icon offers both structure and refinement.

Produced until 1985, the 222 has been offered in various executions and sizes. Reference 46003 depicted here is a 34 mm steel timepiece featuring a gray dial. Powering this reference is the Calibre 1124, a movement just 3.25mm thin and famous for being the Maison’s first self-winding calibre to feature central seconds and a date indication.
