Ole Mathiesens stolte urmagertraditioner kan dateres tilbage til 1845, da urmagerne Carl Matthæi og J. Indtil 1919 producerede og servicerede Alvild Dahl, Christensen og Matthæis efterfølgere lommeure og kronometerure. I 1919 blev det kendte urværksted overtaget af chefurmager Axel O. Mathiesen, der med nye ressourcer og succes formåede at forny virksomheden, og indlede et samarbejde med schweizis

ke urvirksomheder. Mathiesens søn, Ole Mathiesen, trådte ind i virksomheden i 1962, fulgte han i de traditionsrige fodspor, som kvalificeret mester-urmager. Med en innovativ genialitet inden for urhåndværket, blandt andet fra sin tid som urmager i det ansete schweiziske urfirma Jaeger-LeCoultre, skabte han fundamentet for en kollektion af de fineste, tidsløse og klassiske ure der mere end 40 år senere i næsten uændret form stadig nyder stor beundring verden over.
