is a brand specialising in handball equipment, and is part of the uhlsport company based in Balingen in Baden Württemberg, Germany. Our product range covers everything a handball team needs for matches, training and leisure, from shoes and balls to clothing. Since 2010 Kempa has been working with Michelin Lifestyle to develop handball shoes. The Kempa name says it all: 100% handball. For us this m
eans that every product that carries the name Kempa is made exclusively and specifically for the sport of handball. At Kempa it’s our exclusive undertaking to tackle challenges that are specific to handball. The brand is named after Bernhard Kempa, the handball legend who played for Göppingen. He was the "Fritz Walter" of handball, taking Germany to world championship victory in the 1950s. He was named Sportsman of the Century and awarded Germany’s highest sporting accolade, the Silver Laurel Leaf, in recognition of his achievements. He helped his club Frisch Auf Göppingen to win 11 German league championships, and is immortalised in a spectacular passing and shooting move called the Kempa Trick.
