Launched in 2009, the jewelry label OggDESIGN is founded on Béatrice Oggier's passion for gemstones.

After a trip to India captured her spirit and imagination, Béatrice left a successful career in finance to becom

e a jewelry designer of unique talent. To top a Bachelor of Laws and an MBA from Switzerland, Béatrice earned gemology and jewelry design degrees in Barcelona and Milan.

Currently based in Barcelona, each piece by OggDESIGN is delicately handmade under the curation of Béatrice at every stage: from the search and selection of gemstones, to the craftsmanship and finishing in the atelier.

¿Sabías que las esmeraldas tienen “jardín”? 💚✨

Seguro que has oído decir que una esmeralda tiene jardín… pero, ¿qué significa realmente?

En gemología, el “jardín” hace referencia a las inclusiones naturales que existen dentro de la piedra. Es un término que se utiliza exclusivamente para las esmeraldas.

Pequeñas formaciones que pueden parecer ramas, musgo o incluso paisajes diminutos atrapados en la gema. Y lejos de ser un defecto, forman parte de su identidad y autenticidad.

De hecho, casi todas las esmeraldas naturales tienen jardín.

Su intenso color verde puede variar según el origen: Colombia, Brasil o Zambia. Y en la valoración de una esmeralda, el color pesa mucho más que la pureza, al contrario de lo que ocurre con los diamantes.

La gema de Hawái que parece hecha con el océano 🌊

Estoy descubriendo el abalone shell —o paua shell—, una co**ha natural utilizada en Hawái para crear joyas y objetos artesanales.

Aunque se parece a la madreperla, sus reflejos son muchísimo más intensos: verdes, turquesas, azules y violetas que cambian con la luz como el propio océano Pacífico.

Y lo más fascinante: estos colores no están teñidos.
Son completamente naturales.

Me encanta cómo aquí este material forma parte de la cultura local y aparece tanto en joyería como en objetos cotidianos… incluso en unas simples chancletas hawaianas.

🌊A reminder that true luxury is often found in nature, craftsmanship and connection to a place.

In Hawaii, I discovered abalone shell — an iridescent natural material with colors that look exactly like the Pacific Ocean.

Unlike gemstones, this is actually a nacre shell, similar to mother of pearl, but with much stronger reflections shifting between turquoise, deep blue, green and violet.

And the most incredible part?
The colors are completely natural. Not dyed.

Depending on the light, it almost looks like moving water.

El zafiro padparadscha con su mezcla imposible entre rosa y naranja.

La turmalina paraíba, eléctrica, casi irreal.
