The Three Stone Ring Through Time 🕰️ 💫
1890–1935
For the latest Petit Cœur catalogue of hand drawn antique rings I have put together a timeline of three stone rings dating from the late Victorian era to Art Deco period. Styles overlap and borrow from one another. But I love laying them out like this, as close to chronologically as I can, as we can see the subtle shifts as we travel through time from organic Victorian and Art Nouveau designs toward increasingly geometric forms of the Art Deco period. These shuttle shifts can become dramatic when we compare the start and finish.
We also see how diverse variations of the same design concept, of having three principle stones, can be… with north to south settings, crossovers, in a row and statement twists. Some with accent stones and some where just a trilogy does all the talking.
