We have been working on developing a 3D printed DiMarca Bead Board for a while now. Our new printer has a larger surface area, and a large Bead Board is now a possibility.

We have arrived at a system with a Base, Velvet, changeable Inserts and a Lid. In the photos/video below, we show a number of layouts for the Insert.

Now we would like to ask for your help. What do you think is the ideal layout for the Inserts: what would be your perfect Bead Board?

The dimensions within which the design must stay are: 23 x 20 cm / 9 x 7.90 inch.

Can you take a photo of a drawing of your ideal Insert layout?

Take a piece of printer paper (the dimensions aren't exactly right now, but the proportions are roughly the same as the Insert). You can then start drawing on this paper; it really doesn't have to be perfect, it's about the idea…

When you are finished and satisfied, take a photo and post it under this post.

Thank you so much!

We will raffle off 2 FREE DiMarca Bead Boards among all submitted ideas.

Ideas for the Inserts can be submitted until May 1st 2026.

👉UPDATE 👈

We have found 1 tester, but would like 2, so are now also considering outside Europe 😉 Please let us know if you have a tapestry that you would like to test-frame, that is within these criteria:
- 120 - 156 columns
- 260 - 297 rows

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As you may know, we sell patterns for Pe**te Tapestries, that can either be used as Candle Light Covers or be framed as Pictures.
(https://www.dimarca-online.com/3d-pe**te-candle-picture.html)
We have also developed a Base Frame for this so that the Tapestry can be stretched nicely. A beautiful Picture Frame is then placed around it.
We now want to offer all sizes for the Base Frames and Picture Frames, ranging from a minimum of 30 to a maximum of 156 columns by 80 to a maximum of 297 rows.
We are looking for someone willing to test frame a large Pe**te Tapestry for us:
> You provide us with the exact number of columns and rows of your tapestry, and we will create a Base and Frame (color of your choice) to test if it works at that large size
> We would like to test it on a large format, so a minimum of 120 columns by 260 rows is needed.
> You may keep the Base & Frame, but we would like clear and focused photos of the result.
> We are looking for someone who either has a Pe**te Tapestry like this ready or will finish it in less than 2 weeks.
> And we are very sorry, but we are looking for someone in Europe to reduce shipping costs.
We have developed a Base Frame & Picture Frames for these Pe**te Tapestries. We would like to offer all sizes for the Base Frames and Picture Frames to a maximum of 156 columns x 297 rows.
In our Test Group we are looking for someone willing to TEST FRAME a large Pe**te Tapestry for us.
For this we need a Pe**te Tapestry with a minimum of 120 columns x 260 rows.
If you are interested and if you:
> either have a Pe**te Tapestry like this ready (minimum of 120 columns x 260 rows) or will finish it in less than 2 weeks
Tropical Parrot Pe**te Star & Ball
꧁ ༺ 🦜🌟⭐🌟⭐🦜🌟🦜⭐🌟⭐🌟 🦜 ༻ ꧂
2 new patterns that go very well together and use the same color scheme.
- https://www.dimarca-online.com/tropical-parrot-pe**te-ball.html
The Tropical Parrot Pe**te Star is 30 rows and the Tropical Parrot Pe**te Ball each triangle has 15 rows (the finished ball is approximately 8 cm/3.20 inch in diameter).
Of course stuffed with our Perfect Pe**te Solid Stuffing (the Pe**te Star was actually one of the reasons to design the FLAT Solid Stuffing!):
- https://www.dimarca-online.com/perfect-pe**te-ball-solid-stuffing.html
These beading patterns provide color diagrams and word charts to create the TROPICAL PARROT 3D Pe**te Star & Ball.
The corner beads are indicated by PARENTHESES.
With both patterns you will also receive the Basic Instructions (detailed step-by-step tutorials).
Many thanks to Francine & Karen for testing and beading !
PERFECT PE**TE STAR SOLID FLAT STUFFING
+ FREE Tutorial
.
We are so excited to show you a new product in our 3D printed line:
Perfect 3D Pe**te Star Solid FLAT Stuffing
- https://www.dimarca-online.com/perfect-3d-pe**te-star-solid-flat-stuffing.html
- Or in our Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/listing/4478142627 (please note shipping is more expensive when you buy through Etsy)
After all the work you did to bead the 3D Pe**te Star, you want it to look perfect.
We noticed that some figurative designs, especially larger ones, got a big distorted when you stuff them.
For this we designed the Perfect Pe**te Star Solid FLAT Stuffing
It creates a perfect smooth FLAT Pe**te Star. Perfect for figurative designs.
The Solid Stuffing has a unique Tension System that allows the size of the stuffing to be adjusted to the tension of the beadwork.
It works the same way as the classic solid stuffing that gives a sharp puffy star:
For our 3D printed products we use PLA plastic or polylactic acid which is a vegetable-based plastic material, which commonly uses cornstarch as a raw material. This material is a thermoplastic aliphatic polyester and it is the primary natural raw material used in 3D printing. PLA is a fully biodegradable thermoplastic polymer consisting of renewable raw materials, but is still extremely strong.
A few weeks ago, Dudley and Karkkainen gave us an idea. They asked for a design board with lots of small holes where you can place beads to create a design.
This in a Pe**te stitch pattern so that you can bead the beads in the correct order afterwards. This way, you can create a pattern very directly without drawing or using a word card.
Twilla mentioned this in combination with a Pe**te Triangle. I made it and used it for a while, and it works fine. It requires some dexterity with a needle, but once you have that down, the process is quite quick.
I was surprised at how quickly I designed a triangle. I can now start making the triangle from the inner three beads.
We are now wondering: is this an idea to develop further? I am currently printing out a version for warped squares…
This is a video of the design process:
