Just delivered my autobiographical piece "Thinking Big" to the Women and the Valleys exhibition.

Starting on Friday 6th March at the Cynon Valley Museum in Aberdare, the exhibition features the work of a number of local women and promises to be a wonderful collection of pieces including 2D, 3D and written works!

If you're in the area, please pop along and support this fab exhibition! The Cynon Valley has so many wonderful artists that don't get seen often enough. And in this mental world, creativity is one of the things that can get us through.

I forgot to get a selfie in front of my painting today at Queen Street Gallery so here's a self portrait instead.

It was fab to be part of the Winter Opencall OPEN26 and πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘ to all the winners! It was well worth getting drenched for!

So many talented people in one place. I recognised a few faces but its still early days for me on "the circuit" so I'm sure I'll get to know people better over the years, and I would love to get to know like minded people better.

It was so full I couldn't see the work properly as I find crowds overwhelming, and I had to leave to get to work, so I'll pop back to see the show before it finishes on the 28th February. The majority of work is for sale and there are some amazing pieces there to invest in!

Also wonderful to see so much representation from Aberdare. We have amazing talent in the valley and it needs to be celebrated.

For the past 2 years, Ive accompanied my partner to the eye hospital in Llwynypia as he hasn't been allowed to drive for his appointments. As the clinic is small, staff wouldn't allow me in with him so I would sit for hours with a coffee and my sketchbook waiting for his eye scans to be completed.

I love watching the nurses and doctors go back and forth with their busyness, keeping their routines and seeing each other in the cafe for a brief moment of light relief. The cafe feels cold with its spindly chair legs getting caught around one another and on Saturdays there are only vending machines available so the staff were chatting around their packed lunches rather than having hot food.

I'm used to waiting though. I've been overly patient my whole life. Maybe it's time to change that.

I'm so honoured to have a piece accepted into the Queen Street Gallery Opencall which starts on the 7th February. This is a wonderful gallery space which I've wanted to display work in for a long time and I would encourage anyone in the area to come and have a look at the exhibition.

Today is the first day I've managed to catch any time to paint over the busy festive period.

A postcard size study of a tree overlooking the wall at Aberdare Park.

I miss the light evenings.
Won't be long.
