POTENTIAL RE-LOCATION OF RAILWAY KIBOSHED BY ANGUS COUNCIL
We are very sorry to have to report to you that an attempt to move KMR to a new location after its closure has had the plugged pulled by Angus Council.
We had been working with them in the hope that the railway could live on on a different site opposite the playpark within the West Links.
We know that this still wouldn't have been the ideal situation as we all would have loved to see the original railway remain, but after the proposed extension was no longer an option (again down to Angus Council), they vowed to offer KMR a solution and this was to be it.
The only reason that you the public didn't know about this project was because it was being council led and therefore confidential. It would also have been a lovely surprise for everyone.
The bit we are most aggrieved at is the fact that we would have been paying for the new railway ourselves and yet instead of that, they have opted to double the size of the crazy golf (which already exists) and spend 200k of their own money which they apparently have to spend this year...
We don't know if we are missing something, but it all stinks and should really be investigated. We feel so hard done by and feel that there is now no hope for the future of KMR.
Sorry this isn't the news many of you would have wanted, but we'd rather you heard it from the horse's mouth instead of from some council politics. Also if you want to believe the council spokesperson's respone in the Courier article please do, but it's a load of lies.
Anyway for now, stay safe and keep smiling.
Thank you, Team KMR.
