Competitive bidding throughout our May Auction resulted in outstanding prices achieved across jewellery, luxury accessories, and designer pieces. Highlights included the highly sought-after Togo Birkin handbag and the iconic 18ct gold Cartier Trinity bangle, alongside an exceptional selection of fine jewellery and collectibles.

The buckle ring is one of jewellery’s most enduring romantic symbols, traditionally representing loyalty, strength, and an unbreakable bond. Originating in the late 17th and 18th centuries, buckle motifs became especially popular in Victorian jewellery, where every design carried meaning.

A “buckle” symbolised two lives fastened together forever, making these rings cherished tokens of love, friendship, and remembrance.

Sophie showcases two beautiful interpretations of this historic design in our current May Auction (ending this evening), each with its own character and style. Which would you choose?
