A contemporary jeweller since 1993, Sara represents over seventy of the UK's leading designer makers with collections ranging from a wide range of contemporary jewellery including her own unique designs, to ceramics, silverware, textiles, wire sculpture, glass and photography. Alongside the gallery's regular artists, Sara promotes and curates a range of bi-monthly exhibitions focusing on international contemporary makers looking toward the more intellectual aspects of contemporary craft.

If Christmas is bringing a certain question to mind, our collection of handmade promise rings, engagement rings and wedding jewellery offers plenty to consider, from sculptural designs with a strong sense of form to quieter, more delicate pieces.

In our Semi-Precious Collection, 22ct gold vermeil provides a warm setting for responsibly sourced gemstones, keeping the natural beauty of each stone at the heart of the design.

Behind these little paisley studs, created for the V&A, lies a much bigger story.

Every piece has a beginning - a line drawn across a page, a shape explored from several angles, an idea that slowly becomes more resolved. This is the design evolution we love to share - the quieter part of jewellery-making that happens long before a piece reaches the gallery.

Part of the beauty of handcrafted pieces is the deep consideration of materials, proportion, texture and the many small decisions that turn an initial thought into something that can be held, worn and eventually become part of someone’s story.

It may feel a little early to say, but the first twinkling signs of Christmas are beginning to appear in the gallery.

Ember & Grain has been taking over our Stratford-upon-Avon windows this month, but soon, it will be time for the exhibition to travel.

Our showcase of contemporary jewellery and its meeting of silver, carved wood and amber has been bringing a wonderful radiance and warmth to the gallery this Autumn. At the end of October, the exhibition will begin its next chapter, moving to our Stirchley gallery for November and December.

There is something rather satisfying about the way jewellery and clothing work in dialogue with each other, especially as the seasons change.

Heavy wool, layered textures and generous scarves create a wonderful backdrop for sculptural earrings - pieces that frame the face, catch the light and bring a little movement to an otherwise enveloping silhouette.

We’ve been looking at four very different designs for Autumn: the organic form of our Oak Leaf Earrings, the graceful line of the Paisley Hooks, the delicate movement of Beaded Petals and the more expressive Sassy Daphne and Leaf.

Some collections begin with a moment in time.

This collection developed from Sara’s trip to Milan in 2007, inspired by the laurel crown once worn by Roman emperors, heroes and commanders. Reworked in precious metals, the pieces have the feeling of something discovered rather than simply made. Their surfaces and forms carry the suggestion of having been touched by time.

There’s something particularly fitting about revisiting the collection in Autumn, when we naturally find ourselves drawn towards richer tones, deeper textures and objects with a sense of history.

There is a particular warmth to autumn that seems to belong in amber.

Our Leaf Fall collection draws on the rich browns and soft greens of the season, with amber bringing its gentle, almost luminous warmth to contemporary silver forms.

Inspired by the colours and movement of falling leaves, these pieces balance organic shapes with considered modern craftsmanship. This Autumn, we’re delighted to bring Ember & Grain, a radiant new showcase of contemporary jewellery and carved wooden vases, to our Stratford-upon-Avon gallery.

Here, the coolness of silver meets the glowing warmth of wood and amber - crisp, considered metalwork crafted by hand, working in perfect harmony with materials shaped by nature and time. These pieces are a perfect display of how delicate construction can bring elements together to create something truly alive.

Ember & Grain is an invitation to bring refined craftsmanship into your everyday life - jewellery with presence, vessels with poise, and materials that speak with quiet confidence. October always seems to bring with it a richer way of looking at things.

This month, we’ve been drawn to the way that the changing light and warmth of Autumn spark a contrast between something softly organic and something beautifully precise - perfectly encapsulated in our semi-precious collection.

Currently in our Stratford-upon-Avon gallery, these pink quartz pieces have a lovely colour and clarity to them. The stone brings its own quiet presence, while the simple sculptural setting allows the form to speak for itself. We also have an equally stunning peridot version available online and in Stirchley - another beautiful interpretation of the same considered design.
