It's with heartbreaking sadness that we've had to say goodbye to my guardian angel Bonnie, who visitors to TRSW's office will know to have been a loyal guardian over the last 8 years, as she vigilantly vetted every customer through our front door.

Regular customers became a familiar smell to her, and she would welcome them with open paws and demand cuddles. She would then set to whining if cuddles were not forthcoming.

She had just passed into her 16th year, but her health, mobility and cognitive abilities had diminished to the point where it was in her best interests to allow her to cross the Rainbow 🌈 Bridge peacefully.

Thank you for the warm messages from customers who were aware of her approaching end with us. I thought it would be good to let those that had come into contact with her know of her passing too ❤️

The photo is of Bonnie in her prime....

Thank you to everyone who have noticed I haven't posted for a while, and have asked if all is well within TRSW.

Other than the usual age related health issues, and having to adapt the workshop schedule in the sprayshop to coincide with the cooler early mornings and evenings due to the very prolonged heatwave, all is indeed well.

The workshop schedule has taken quite a beating over the last 5 months due to the reasons mentioned above, and thus I have had little time available to schedule in anything other than current customers work requests, which has been 100% of my workload over that period. My next 5 months will also be as such, and therefore I haven't posted on FB because as a great "shop window" for my services, each post created a lot of interest and enquiries and new customer work, which I am eternally grateful for, but knew I couldn't fit in the schedule.

In my 9 years of trading TRSW hasn't spent anything on advertising, other than having 500 flyers printed at the very beginning. FB has been responsible for all of the heavy lifting regarding keeping the order books full to overflowing.

While I would usually welcome this under normal turnover circumstances, during this period of reduced turnover I've had to prioritise my current customer base. I have not been able to take on any new customers for quite some time, but hopefully after the end of November that may have changed back to some sort of normality. This is the main reason for the big reduction in posts.

However, to keep the appetite whetted, here is a small selection of loco's in both O & OO gauge out shopped recently..... albeit prior to any glazing and final embellishments being applied.....

Have others found that their 2022 new tooled Bachmann class 37's are throwing a tooth on the primary gear that links the worm drive to the axle drives?

The first sign of this issue is juddering at slow speed with a slight ticking sound at higher speeds, and even a seizure at slow speed which can be overcome by rotating the wheels, but it'll keep seizing.

This is the 3rd 2022 re-tooled loco that's had to have a replacement.

Just interested to find out the extent of the problem.

Part of these four is the 50th USED Accurascale Factory Sound Fitted Deltic that's come into works for attention over the last few months.

These USED Deltics are not covered by the Accurascale Lifetime Warranty. Their Lifetime Warranty only applies to locos purchased BRAND NEW from an approved retailer, and not to pre-owned loco's. Thus, having us work on them doesn't void any warranty.

Customers ask for a variety of work to be carried out, depending on how badly things have become with their particular models.

The latest 4 that arrived for attention all had the annoying rattling sound, which can occur for one or more different reasons. The particular loco pictured is the 50th I've worked on, and it had an extremely loose lighting board PCB at the no 1 end, where the speaker is fitted, which is the most common reason for this. Over time the base speaker takes its toll on the retaining screws directly above it, and after a while these work loose, if they were ever fully tightened in the first place. More often than not the screw will not tighten fully, so some work is involved in making the PCB solid against its base to stop any of the unwanted rattling noises.

The second most common issue is to remove the horrendous light bleed around the headcodes box. See the before and after photo's.

Then it's a matter of refitting as many of the loose parts that the customers can send me to refit, that have fallen off over time, which is usually quite extensive.

These 4 are also in for renumbering & renaming and also weathering.

A rare hour spare to go and "spot" "Teddy's Nook" the 1Z43 Princess Risborough to Saltburn railtour run by UK Railtours and Hanson & Hall. With the 125 Groups power cars 43159 up front and 43025 trailing, it's seen 3 1/2 minutes down at Essendine Farmers bridge, it is seen pushing notch 5 to catch up time on the Up Fast on the ECML, where HST's belong. Looking forward seeing its return run this evening....

What I didn't realise was that the Blue Pulman set followed approx 20 minutes later......DOH....
