Everyone here at Ti2 Titanium has been so excited to release the Celtic Collection this autumn.

We have been overwhelmed by the response and orders from customers old and new: we can almost see the sweat on the brows of our laser engraving team!

We just love how this has all come together just in time for the changing of the seasons. Everything is just starting to turn, and we love that our new range reflects it so poignantly.

We're starting to eye up our orange jumpers and pumpkin spice - it'd be pertinent to complete the trio with a gorgeous celtic knot bangle or ring. It's nearly October, treat yourself, as they say (it's a 'thing' I promise) !

Congrats, we've made it to the end of another week. 🥂

Meet The Team #10 - Barry and Sally - Founders and creators

This is the last in the series of meet the team, and it felt right to end with the brains behind the whole business. Barry and Sally - the founders of Prism Design and Ti2 Titanium.

Having worked for over 45 years within the international jewellery industry, Barry & Sally are accomplished designers who are resolutely passionate about jewellery. Starting Prism Design in 1980 they have been responsible for the design and development of Prism Designs own label collections, bespoke service and the evolution of the brands Ti2 Titanium; Contour; & Gold, Silver & Gemstone Collections.

Barry & Sally met at St Martin's College, ran a studio by Carnaby Street, opened 'Scarab' in Sevenoaks, for a company called Simbol. Sally won a De Beers student design competition, which resulted in her ring designs being produced by Cartier.

Barry and Sally passed the business down to Sarah, their daughter, 4 and a half years ago, ready for their eventual retirement down to Dartmoor. They've given everything to this business and are absolutely delighted with how Sarah has moved things on.

We love Barry and Sally - we just hope they let us let them retire!
(We'll still see them most weeks, I'm sure).

Meet The Team #9 - Chris (me)

For the last couple of months you may have been reading these meet the team posts, you may not. In any case, I've been writing them (I.e. Chris off of Prism, off of "also plays music").

Chris was roped into the business after his wife Sarah (see: the boss) dragged him in (biased language, please edit) to assist her. Barry and Sally passed the business down to Sarah and Chris now helps out with the nitty gritty, the data, the stats, the databasing, the organising. Chris also assists with finding new customers, going on sales visits, whinging about "efficiency" and making the tea.

Career highlight: making a fully interactive stockist map for the office, filterable across the 3 Prism brands
Favourite jewellery item: Celtic Fine Trinity Knot (well done, Michelle)
Favourite gem: fire opal
Favourite customer: couldn't possibly say

When Chris isn't working for Sarah you can find him pulling the strings in the music world: from solo gigs, a duo, 3 bands, guitar tuition, music in care and music for vulnerable adults. In the words of every birthday card aged 13-17: "Rock on, Chris!"

Wistful Weekend 💫

Going through the archives I found this wonderful clipping from somewhere in the region of 1984-85...!

Barry and Sally were preparing for the Jewellery Show, then called the IJL. Here you can see Barry and Sally were trying some gemset jewellery. Whilst not specifically related to titanium, what this shows is how Barry and Sally were thinking in colour, in spectrum and in rainbow.

So many of the hallmarks of Ti2 Titanium originated back in the 80s: from Barry and Sally thinking in all colours. This eventually found its way across the entire range of titanium, ending up with being the iconic rainbow titanium we know and love today.

Meet The Team #8 - Lorraine - Books, boffin, brainbox (keeping us all in order)

Lorraine has been with Prism since 2010 and has flourished as our commander-in-chief of all things admin. Whether it be tinkering in the caves of Sage, taking payments on the phones or squaring away the books, Lorraine is the big cog in the centre of our operations making sure we keep turning.

Behind every business, glamorous jewellery making or otherwise, is a wizardess or wizard behind the scenes, whittling away on the spoon of accounts. Lorraine is efficient, funny, calm and reliable - everything you need propping up the numbers! 🤓

We love Lorraine. When she's not keeping Ti2 and Prism Design on the straight-and-narrow she's tending the horses up the hill or, if we've let her have a break (sorry Lorraine!), she can be found at rock and metal festivals.
