The safety catches on a piece like this are so important.

They’re the last saving grace if, for whatever reason, the main clasp were to come undone. On a valuable piece like this Tiffany diamond bangle, you want that extra bit of security.

In this video I go through the repair of the figure-of-eight safety, showing how I’ve repaired each part and brought it back to working properly again.

It’s one of those small parts you don’t really think about — until you need it.

We hate the thought that arthritis or chronic inflammation could mean you have to stop wearing the jewellery you love.

For so many people, swollen or painful knuckles can make putting on a traditional ring uncomfortable or sometimes impossible. And we didn’t think that was fair.

So we wanted to create something that works with your hands, rather than asking your hands to work around the jewellery.

This is our screw ring. Instead of needing to hinge or stretch over a larger knuckle, the ring opens completely, allowing it to be placed comfortably onto the finger. Once in position, it screws securely back together.

Even the diamond has a threaded base, allowing it to screw directly into the ring and lock everything beautifully into place.

It’s a small change in design, but it can make a huge difference to someone who thought they could no longer wear the jewellery they love.

Because jewellery should be made to fit you, not the other way around.

So, how does ordering a bespoke engagement ring actually work?

It usually starts with a simple message, Instagram, WhatsApp, or however you prefer to reach us.

From there, we want to know everything we can. Has your partner ever shown you a ring they love? Saved a particular style? Mentioned a certain metal or stone? Send it our way.

And if they haven’t given you any clues… don’t panic. That’s what we’re here for.

We’ll sit down with you, talk through different styles, settings, metals and stones at different price points, and help you work out what feels right.

Once we know what you’re looking for, we can take care of the full design process. We create your bespoke design, present it to you, and make any changes until you’re completely happy.

Then the exciting part is ours, bringing your ring to life.

We can even capture parts of the making process on video, giving you something special to share with your partner after the proposal.

The goal is simple: take the stress out of choosing an engagement ring and make the whole experience feel personal, straightforward and special.

We’ll do the hard work.

Am I right? Because from what I’ve found, these are some of the terms used in the US for different parts of a ring, compared with the terms I’ve seen used in the UK. 🇺🇸🇬🇧

I’ve been looking into the differences in US (other countries too) and UK jewellery terminology, and I found it fascinating that we can be talking about the same part of the same ring but use completely different words for it.

From my findings:

🇺🇸 US → 🇬🇧 UK

• Prong → Claw
• Bezel setting → Rub over
• Cathedral → Shoulders
• Band → Shank

But… am I right? 👀

I’m saying “from what I’ve found” deliberately, because I’m sure terminology can vary between jewellers, regions and even individual workshops. So if you’re in the US or UK and you use these terms differently, I’d genuinely love to know.

Have I got this right, or is there a jewellery terminology plot twist I’ve missed? 💍

Same rings. Different words.

This bangle came in damaged, with one of the taps broken off inside.

While this may not be what happened in this particular case, it’s a good reminder that when opening bangles like this, they need to be taken off equally and straight. Pulling them off at an angle can sometimes put unnecessary pressure on the fitting and cause damage.

In this video, I show you how I carefully repair the damage, secure everything back into place, and bring the bangle back to its best.

The finished result? 👌✨ Looking as good as new!
