So happy to show you this gorgeous antique style engagement ring!! Such a beautiful allure, this antique Diamond engagement ring carries a delightful charm down the years. Dating to around 1900, the design was the most desired at the time, with a restrained mood centering on the delicious olden hand cut gemstone mounted in a fine coronet setting first seen and designed by Tiffany:

The Tiffany Setting was introduced in 1886 by Charles Lewis Tiffany, the founder of Tiffany & Co. This setting revolutionized engagement ring design by lifting a round brilliant-cut diamond above the band, held by prongs, to maximize its brilliance and sparkle (see images).

The Diamond was cut by hand to the Old European recipe, which brought greater sparkle to the gem as a result of the accurately cut matching facets. Cut from a single crystal, see our images from all views to appreciate her plump majesty!

In pristine condition: all entirely original and hand crafted, this piece is both very special and 100% ethical as a choice for your engagement ring.

Stone: we estimate the Diamond to weigh 0.65ct (judged in the setting with a Schindler Gauge) and note that it does have a gorgeous natural champagne hue and is super-sparkly!

Ring Size: P or 7.5 as is but easy to alter for fit

Metal: 18ct Yellow Gold tested and stamped with a workshop ‘18CT’ inside the band.

Today is World Goth Day, and we’re celebrating the darker romantic aesthetic that has always lived at the heart of antique jewellery.

Victorian mourning jewellery. Memento mori. Lockets holding hair and memory. Jet brooches carved with roses and forget-me-nots. Deep red garnets. Black enamel and gold engraved with names no longer spoken aloud.

These pieces weren’t morbid. They were love made visible. Grief given form. The Victorians understood something we’ve lost, that darkness and beauty are not opposites. That sentimentality can wear black. That romance lives in shadow as much as light.

Our collection holds these mysterious, melancholic treasures. Pieces with gothic symbolism, atmospheric beauty, and stories written in candlelight. Jewels that feel like they belong in old portraits, dusty libraries, velvet-lined boxes opened only at midnight.

This is the side of antique jewellery we love most. The cosy academia with a dark edge. The romantic gloom. The beautiful haunting.

Visit us in the Brighton Lanes or explore online to discover pieces that embrace the shadows.

There is something profoundly romantic about choosing an engagement ring that has already been loved, a ring with history, soul, and a story to tell.

We believe your engagement ring should reflect not only your love but also your values: individuality, craftsmanship, ethical integrity, and timeless beauty.

Antique engagement rings offer what mass-produced jewellery cannot: genuine character, hand-crafted artistry, and the quiet confidence of wearing something truly one-of-a-kind.

Every Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian ring in our collection carries symbolic meaning, exquisite detail, and the warmth of old cut diamonds designed to glow softly in candlelight. These are rings for romantics, for those who value sentiment over status, and for anyone seeking jewellery that feels deeply personal.

Choosing an antique ring is also an ethical choice: re-using treasures that already exist, honouring precious resources, and wearing conflict-free stones mined long before modern concerns arose.

If you are drawn to jewellery with soul, history, and meaning, we would be honoured to help you find the ring that sets your heart aflutter.

Dating to the 1860’s/70’s or so; an unusual and very special creation: a glittering constellation of magical Diamond beauty showers the air with each movement of the hand!

Almost a carat of characterful old hand cut Diamonds are clustered together in floriate style setting of mellow 18ct yellow Gold, both full of romantic intention and blessed by time. The glittery old gems sit closely, each faceted in the ‘old mine’ style with steeply sided sides and large open facets which the light rolls over so gorgeously. The widely tapered band is smoothed with age and feels substantial, tactile and familiar upon the hand.

A unique and special antique ring; 100% ethical as a choice and entirely original; we are sure that the impact of this splendid ring will not disappoint!

Stones: natural hand cut antique Diamonds. The centre stone measures at 0.20ct and the eight framing stones 0.08ct each. Judged in the setting with a Schindler Gauge.

Metal: 18ct yellow Gold tested but unmarked. There is a maker’s mark stamped inside the band. It reads ‘WR&S’. Weighs 7.42 grams

Ring Size: The ring size is an M and a half or 6.25, but can easily be altered to suit and we do so for free. Just leave us a message on your order form.

Today, on International Museum Day, we’re sharing some of our museum worthy treasures! Which one is your favourite?

We celebrate antique jewellery as wearable history , treasures worthy of museum display, yet meant to be loved, worn, and cherished.

Every Georgian, Victorian, and Edwardian piece in our collection holds a significance that transcends time. These jewels preserve centuries-old craftsmanship techniques, tell stories of social history, and embody the artistic movements of their eras. Each old-cut diamond, hand-engraved setting, and natural gemstone represents skills passed down through generations.

Museums protect history behind glass. We believe these treasures deserve to live again , catching light on a hand, resting against a collarbone, becoming part of new stories whilst honouring their past.

When you wear an antique jewel, you become a custodian of history. You preserve craftsmanship. You carry forward beauty that has endured wars, celebrations, love stories, and quiet everyday moments.

Visit us in the Brighton Lanes or explore our collection online to discover your own wearable museum treasure.

A most special and favoured pair of vintage Sapphire and Diamond cluster earrings dating from the 1980’s and nicely hand crafted with great care and thought. Trembling just below the ear, the shortness of the fitting mean that they aren’t too, too dressy.

These dazzling floral cluster earrings would make a most wonderful gift for a (very) special birthday or anniversary and as an heirloom. One can imagine bringing these incredible beauties out for weddings and important parties down the years; the blazingly bright brilliant-cut Diamonds glimmering just as they did back in the day, and the bright blue cushion shaped light blue Ceylon Sapphires (which have that super natural colour zoning and so are most likely untreated) adding that fab pop of colour which makes the design stand out.

All is of superior quality and a wonderful example of hand made jewellery of the period which is so neat and clean to the eye.

They are presented in a little silk and velveteen lined vintage box which suits them perfectly too....

Stones: natural Sapphires and natural brilliant-cut Diamonds. The two stud top Diamonds measure at 0.25ct each; the Sapphires well over a carat each with the Diamonds framing them measure at 0.05ct each and so combine at 0.60ct to each ear.

A very special vintage Georgian Revival Diamond rosette cluster ring; an expression of love and devotion fondly adored down the years.

Crafted by hand of beautiful quality (first water) antique hand cut Diamonds dating to the 17th century or so which have been set over silver coloured foil in the traditional way to enhance their sparkle. The twelve quirkily shaped olden rose-cut Diamonds form the petals framing the main centrepiece high domed Rose: their triangular facets emanating a gentle shimmery glint; all very special and the kind of stones one just doesn’t see anymore. 100% ethical and original, they have been sourced/recycled from an earlier jewel.

Finely modelled, every aspect has been considered to create the perfect neatness. The prettiest of details ornament the band and the shaped button back recalls the way 18th century rings were made.

For considered and careful wear, not to be worn in water as this could spoil the foils which are seated beneath the Diamonds

Stones: natural antique hand cut Diamonds

Metal: 18ct yellow Gold (unmarked but tested)

Ring Size: O and a half or 7.25 as is but suitable to alter for fit. This is a free service, just leave a message on your order form.
