Valentine’s Day is less than four months away

If you are thinking about proposing on the 14th of February, it is worth knowing that an engagement ring takes me around eight weeks to finish once the design is agreed. That is true whether I make it for you, or you make it yourself in a workshop with me in Bristol.

So the planning begins a little earlier than you might expect. The design needs to be agreed, or your workshop day completed, by Friday 11 December.

There is no need to decide anything today. If you would like to talk through the options, or book a date for a workshop, do get in touch.

Most people remember the moment they said yes. Very few know the story of the ring itself.
When you make your own engagement ring, you come away with far more than the ring. You come away with a day spent thinking about the person you love, a skill you never expected to learn, and an answer to "where did you get it?" that no shop can give you.
Swipe through to see everything you take home from the Make Your Own Engagement Ring Workshop.
Book your date at aimeewinstone.com, or send me a message if you'd like to talk it through first.

Hello 👋
Fancy starting September by learning a completely new skill?

I’m running a 6-week Wax Carving Jewellery Workshop starting 2nd September, perfect for beginners who’d love to try jewellery making in a relaxed, supportive setting.

Over the course of the workshop you’ll:
* Learn the ancient technique of wax carving
* Complete 4 guided exercises to get confident using all the tools
* Have 2 full weeks to develop your own designs
* Finish with your own sterling silver jewellery pieces

The workshop takes place at The Winterbourne Medieval Barn, Bristol and there are only 6 places available to keep it small and hands-on.
If you’ve been thinking about a creative hobby, this is a lovely way to dive in.
Feel free to comment or message me if you’d like more details or head to my website to book.

I've been itching to share this one for a couple of weeks now.

A client came to me with three large natural diamonds from rings she no longer wore, and asked if I could design a cluster ring to bring them together. I put together several different cluster options before we found the right arrangement, and the finished ring is set in 18ct yellow gold. It really is a showstopper, beautifully sparkly and full of character.

What made it even more special was hearing, when she collected it, that the ring might one day be passed down to one of her daughters. There's something lovely about diamonds getting a second life now, with a third potentially still ahead of them.

A real pleasure from start to finish.
Tag someone who has a drawer full of jewellery they never wear.

Fancy learning a new skill this autumn?

My 6 Week Wax Carving Jewellery Course starts on 2nd September, just as the school holidays end and life settles back into its rhythm. Over six relaxed evenings at Winterbourne Medieval Barn, you'll learn four different wax carving techniques, from creating a piece to a size and weight, to setting stones straight into the wax before casting.

Whether you've been meaning to carve out a little time for yourself, or you simply love making things with your hands, this is a lovely way to spend an evening. No experience needed, just curiosity and a willingness to get stuck in.

Spaces are limited to six people, so everyone gets plenty of guidance along the way.

This necklace was made for the teacher who changed the course of my life.
Back at school, my tutor arranged for me to spend a work experience week at a well known jeweller's in Bath, and even had me to stay with her family for the week so her husband could drive me in each day. That simply wouldn't happen now.
I LOVED IT.
It was the week I learnt to saw pierce, hammer, solder and polish, and I never really stopped.
A couple of months ago she asked if I could make her a necklace. This is it. Three soldered layers: a planished base, a layer of soldered circles, and tiny saw pierced blossom flowers on textured branches, engraved by hand. Thirteen solderings, and one small explosion from a trapped air pocket that I'd never encountered before.
Twenty eight years of making jewellery, and it all started with Mrs Pearce. I know exactly how lucky I was.

Just under 2 weeks until the Winterbourne Medieval Day.
As usual, I'll be opening my workshop to the public. Last year it was so busy!

I'll have some silver jewellery to sell, a few silver viking weave bracelet craft kits and workshop dates, as well chatting about any commissions you may like.

Of course, there is so much more to do like watching the Dressed To Kill, they were fab last year. I have my fingers crossed for dry weather

Entry tickets can be bought through the Winterbourne Medieval Barn
Id love to see you there

Three claws. One diamond. A family of three.

When Mike came to my Make Your Own Engagement Ring Workshop, he arrived with a vision, a ring that would carry the meaning of his little family of three right at its heart.

So together, we designed a three claw setting, each claw a quiet nod to the three of them.

At the centre sits a 2.05ct E VVS1 lab grown diamond, the largest I've ever had the pleasure of working with. The brilliance of it in platinum is something else entirely.

Mike did a brilliant job. And the story behind this ring makes it even more beautiful.

If you'd like to make your own engagement ring send me a DM and we can discuss your ideas.
