Quick refurb of this bangle I made a while ago for Joy Bags

Solid 9ct gold, hammer textured, hinged bangle, with clip closure and safety chain.

The mechanism was feeling a little loose, so I added an extra clip latch, where previously there had just been one.

I also put a thicker rod through the hinge part, to keep the movement straighter and stiffer.

Then a quick polish and it's good to go again!

Super Grover!

This was commissioned as a charm gift for my friend's new baby.

Super Grover is the superhero alter ego of Grover from Sesame Street, and was the new mum's favourite character as a child.

Silver is traditionally given to new babies to bestow luck, health, wealth and protection.

It was nice to be able to make this cool piece for my friend, as she has had a hand in commissioning several pieces for other people. Now she gets one of her own!

Latest bits I made for my Mum.

My mum loves wildflowers, and daisies are pretty much her favourite.

She asked me to make her some daisy earrings, and did a quick sketch of what she'd like, and there we go!

I like the way the triple segmentation gives them a nice dangle ( you can see them move in my story).

The gems in the top parts are citrines. The middle section is acid etches of drawings I did specially for this piece. The domes in the lower segments are brass. The rest is oxidised 925 silver.

Teeeeeeeettthh!

I was commissioned to make some memorial pendants from the fangs of a beloved family dog called Fenrir.

I did a solid 925 silver sand casting of one, then riveted silver caps onto 3 of them.

I love the look of the solid silver one in particular. It's nice to be able to make banging bits of bling to help commemorate a pet or loved one.

Wax carving full day class in Stokes Croft, Bristol!

My next group workshop is on Saturday 13th June at Kasasagi Studios

Over the course of the day, I introduce the various tools and techniques that I use to create my carvings, then guide you through the process of carving a design of your own.

You can come along with either a fully formed idea you'd like to realise, or just a rough notion.

I'll then help you work it into an achievable design, and give help and advice throughout the whole process.

Check out some of the bits my wax carving students have been making recently!

All of these were made by participants in the various ongoing wax courses and one-off days I teach.

It's great to see some really creative bits coming together.

All polished up and shiny!

These are the rings that were carved by participants in my last wax day at Silver & Steel.

I got them cast in 925 silver by The Folklore Foundry, then I sanded and polished them up ready to go back their owners.

My next wax class at Silver and Steel is on Friday 17th July.

Great wax day on saturday at Silver & Steel!
