Nuts and bolts 🔩 function, form and fabric 🔩

I'm working on elevating this collection at the moment. Originally I wanted to create something precious from something mundane but now I want to make it even more special.

Last year I was chatting with Rosy on my stall at Big London Tattoo Show (having the best time) and saying how I wanted to work with a new artist whos style would translate to signet rings and expand the collection of working with tattoo artists.

Rosy mentioned Damon and I dropped him a message!

His stripped back American traditional style is perfect for signet rings. Simple and striking we managed to get a big of an S theme going with them.

First I carved a couple of shapes and showed Damon how the wax felt to work with. Then he drew some designs and we chatted about options.

Once I'd carved all the rings he hand carved the designs into the top and we had them cast using Merrell Casting Co. who I worked with for the first time.

We then cleaned them up together, sent them back to merrel for moulding and casting again and here we are!

They made their debut Cornwall Tattoo Convention people loved them and I can't wait to take them back out next year!

Working together by mixing crafts and approaches is so much fun and I'm lucky to be spending my days doing this

I love to collaborate in general but there's something special when different art forms for your body combine 🖤

Wearing our insides on our outsides via crafts that are only handmade is the perfect fusion of human self expression and we've been creating both jewellery and tattoos for thousands of years ❤️‍🔥

If you've been following for a while you'll know that my stock items don't tend to include gemstones that I've bought from usual mainstream suppliers.

Where do they come from?
💎I buy second hand stock that isn't being used from jewellers I know
💎 I buy estate sales of jewellers or collectors who have passed away
💎 I take stones out of old jewellery and repurpose
💎 People give me things they have found! This happens more than you might think ❤️
💎 I have bought from members who find and then I cut
Although I'm terrible at attending regularly! FOLLOW THEM
💎 I've found, foraged and picked in nature

What does this mean? It means I don't create designs that are easy to repeat when I'm using gems. I use what I find and I design around the gemstone and how it inspires me.

What I like about this is it keeps the material precious, scarce and respected. Not massively bought at the click of a button and replicated with different colour options to easily repeat a design. No shade to everyone who does this and maybe I should.

It does mean pieces cost more. It's slow. It's intentional and it does require a lot of labour. But that's what I like

This isn't the case for all my bespoke items because clients have specific requirements but I would LOVE to get to that place where it is, and I have recently started buying the odd piece from 🤤 keep your eyes peeled for designs featuring these stones.

A decade of making, slowly and steadily to get all dressed up and glam covered in jewellery ❤️ there's something both magical and grounding about how we wear materials and use them to cover our bodies. Contemporary self expression with ancient roots and I couldn't be happier to spend my time hitting metal so you can get dressed up too!

Made for nights out, last minute plans, good lighting and bad decisions. Feeling bloody great while you do it ❤️‍🔥

The rollercoaster of second hand gemstone sourcing 🥰

You're never quite sure until you have things tested but my adventures continue trying to find beautiful gemstones without buying new.

If you've been following for a while you'll already know that I design around the pieces I can source, not the other way around.

I can't wait to work on these!

The best wedding ❤️ nothing more special than when your sibling gets married

My heart is full and my family is now even fuller 💃🕺🏽

The wedding jewellery was of course made by me from 300 year old petrified elm wood cast into metal, they made the rings with me from white gold to fit around the engagement ring.

We had an amazing Ceilidh band, Roberta Pia played after and everything was so beautiful.

I spent much of the ceremony crying 😭 🥰
