There is something really special about giving a piece a second life ✨

In this video I am at the bench talking through this necklace I have just finished. It began as a 22ct yellow gold ring and I have carefully transformed it into a pendant that can be worn and enjoyed every day. I love being able to take something with history and turn it into something new while keeping its story alive.

I am also really happy to say that I am now opening my commissions and restoration book again 😊 I have finally caught up with my heirloom work, so if you have a piece tucked away that you would love redesigned or restored, this is the perfect time to get in touch.

✨ A story of transformation ✨
This beautiful Trilogy Diamond and Cornflower Sri Lankan Sapphire ring has a very special story to tell.

At its heart once sat a very tired aquamarine, worn down over the years and ready for a well-deserved rest. I carefully removed it and replaced it with this vibrant Cornflower Sapphire from Sri Lanka. The two sparkling diamonds that now sit on either side came from the original ring, which makes the piece even more meaningful.

The aquamarine has not been forgotten. It is currently being repolished and will soon take on a new life in a pendant I am designing. 💙💎

I love how this ring now radiates colour, light, and timeless elegance. Sometimes a fresh chapter is all it takes to let a jewel shine again.

✨ I am so excited to share this platinum eight stone ring, crafted with heirloom diamonds that have been lovingly passed down to my customer. After carefully designing, CAD modelling and setting everything into place, this beauty is finally complete. It is always such a privilege to give a new life to stones that already hold so many memories.

I also want to say a heartfelt sorry for the lack of updates over the past few months. I have been so grateful to be absolutely immersed in handmade commissions, which has kept me very busy indeed. Thank you for your patience, and I promise there will be lots of lovely images of recent work coming your way in the weeks ahead.

Hi everyone — sorry for being as quiet as a mouse again 🙈 It’s been a whirlwind few weeks in the studio, and I’ve been completely immersed in some incredibly special projects ✨

Here’s a sneak peek at one of them: CAD renders of a modern platinum trilogy ring, designed using my lovely client’s heirloom diamonds 💎 I feel so honoured to breathe new life into her family stones, upcycling precious metals and memories into a timeless design she’ll treasure forever 💍💫

Today I was joined in the workshop by none other than Banksy… not the street artist, but the furry overlord of ear scratches and emergency cuddle sessions 😂

He called a very serious meeting which mostly involved me putting down my tools and giving 110% attention to his ears. Productivity = 0. Morale = 100 🐾💼

Tonight I thought I would share with you the other jewellery side of me 💎 Along with Julia Usher Jewellery I am honoured to have another jewellery business. 2017 was the year everything changed for me as a jeweller. After years on the High Street. I took a huge leap and set up Ashes Memorial Jewellery from my humble shed at home, driven by a desire to help people keep their loved ones close forever. What started as a small idea has grown into something beautiful - a way to transform grief into treasured keepsakes. Sometimes the most meaningful journeys begin in the most unexpected places. My shed may have been small, but my heart was huge and the memories of my amazing Granny gave me the strength to believe 💕🏠

Just finished designing this absolute Bobby dazzler of a contemporary platinum ring design using my CAD software💍✨

My lovely customer brought me some very sentimental diamond pieces that she no longer wears, and asked if I could reimagine them into something new — something that reflects who she is now, while still holding the memories close.

It was such a joy to create this design with her stones at the heart of it. I’m so happy to say she loves it! Next step is to 3D print a model so she can try it on before I begin crafting it in platinum. Can’t wait to bring it to life for her 💫

✨Hi everyone! Sorry I’ve been a little quiet the past few weeks — I’ve been busy beavering away on a truly special commission… and now I can finally share it with you! 💍💎

I was honoured to be asked to create a bespoke trilogy emerald-cut diamond ring for a wedding proposal (no pressure, right? 😅). Each of these stunning diamonds is VS1 grade — meaning exceptional clarity with no inclusions visible to the naked eye. They’re bright, near colourless, and full of sparkle! ✨

The stones are set in a double gallery platinum mount, proudly hallmarked with my heritage SUL family mark — a detail that makes this piece all the more meaningful.

And the best news? She said YES! 🙌💕

What a joy and privilege it’s been to craft this ring. Huge congrats to the happy couple — and thank you for trusting me with such an important piece of your love story.

Today I’m delighted to show you what I’ve been busy creating over the past few days!

I was commissioned to craft a special pendant and bracelet to celebrate a milestone 60th birthday — and I absolutely loved bringing this vision to life.

Both the necklace and bracelet are a luxurious blend of sterling silver and 9ct yellow gold, textured with a planishing hammer to give that irresistible sparkle. Each silver and gold bead is individually hand-formed by melting the metals into molten spheres, making every piece truly unique.

To add contrast and depth, I’ve set black onyx into silver mounts, creating a striking balance between the rich tones of gold and the cool sheen of silver.

This set was an absolute honour to craft for a special birthday.

The last two days have been all about the bench — I’ve been busy handcrafting a special pendant and bracelet set for a lovely customer.

This bespoke duo features a mix of sterling silver, 9ct yellow gold, and striking black onyx — a timeless combination I can’t wait to share once they’re complete. Stay tuned!

What a joy today has been! I've been busy designing something truly special for a lovely client who’s bringing new life to her old treasures. She’s asked me to create a modern statement ring using diamonds from different pieces of her jewellery — a sentimental project I absolutely love.

From sketching out ideas to carefully measuring each stone, it’s been a day full of creativity, sparkle, and thoughtful design. Can’t wait to bring her vision to life!
