Hwyl Fawr Newport! 🫡

My first ever shop!! It's been an absolute rollercoaster and felt so weird closing up shop for the last time today.

Ultimately closing this shop had to be a business decision, moving to Cardiff and creating a new little space I know will work so much better for me and the business. HOWEVER, emotionally I feel so sad to be leaving behind my friends in Newport, as soon as I opened I was taken aback by how welcoming everyone was and I'm so happy to have made some genuine friendships from this place.

To my lovely customers and friends of the business, thankyou so much to everyone who popped in to see me, gave Pickle a cuddle or a morsel to eat (shout-out to chicken man), THANKYOU. I'll be honest sales weren't always the best and it wasn't always sunshine and rainbows but having a gossip with Chris, a cuppa tea with Lil and some banging lunches and sweet treats always made it easier.

Big love to Newport, what a wild ride! Watch this space for the next adventure 👀

I had the honour of making my oldest friend's engagement ring 🤍

I've been friends with Lauren since we were 8 years old and it felt SO emotional making her engagement ring.

She hadn't given her fiancée Ryan too much direction other than "I want Saffron to make it and she knows what I want" 😅😅

When you've been friends so long you discuss EVERYTHING so I always knew Lauren wanted gold and emerald and that she loves a hammered texture. I decided to add in two teeny tiny diamonds either side of the emerald to glimmer more within the texture, even though the main stone is emerald it always feels quite engagementy adding diamonds 💎

I decided to make the emerald in a more modern setting rather than a claw as it matches the feeling of the textured band better, it's a very dainty ring so I wanted to make sure the bezel was sturdy to secure the beautiful central emerald 💚

It was so special making this ring for someone I've known and loved for years - and a ring that represents the love of two very special people!!

This is the sort of reason I love hand making jewellery, making pieces with a story and some soul behind them makes me love what I do so much 💍

My goodness I've been so burnt out recently post Christmas and in the new year quiet period, I bloody loved being back at it really is one of my favourite places 💐

I feel like Ty Picl is gonna have some huge changes this year and I'm excited and nervous to see where it takes us, I love having this small and slow little business - trying to lean in to all the reasons I fell in love with it in the first place 🤍

Tbf this is just a bit of a brain dump and a check in, I don't have capacity for a social media plan or a trending reel so I'm afraid you're stuck with me randomly popping in now and again, thanks for all the orders from the new collections it's made me very happy 😘

Here are a few of my favourite pieces from the West End Pearl collection. 🦪

🤍I picked up these beautiful freshwater pearls in a gorgeous little shop in Porto and I couldn't wait to make jewellery out of them

Already so many pieces have sold but I still have a limited selection left both online and in my little shop .market, if there's any left I will also bring them to at the start of April! 💐

West End Pearl collection is now live!!!
I heard herself actually loves it and said it was stunning (unconfirmed)

I went to Porto last week and picked up some absolutely gorgeous freshwater pearls and Ive been SO excited making jewellery with them.

You can always shop anything new first at my shop in .market where everything is ready to buy as soon as it's finished or you can have a browse on my website - new uploads weekly!

Ceridwen adjustable rings are actually the first staple piece I made for Ty Picl and have remained a firm favourite ever since.

I think the reason they've remained so popular is their adaptability in many ways.

If you're buying one for a gift - you don't need to know their ring size!

If your fingers often swell or change size - they adjust to you to make sure they fit.

If you like to change up how you wear your rings - you can wear these on any finger.

You can be any size, any gender for these rings and the best bit is they're completely unique to you! Each is made from a piece of recycled sterling silver and slowly melted by hand to create the perfectly unique droplets, no two are the same. I can then add texture by hammering into the band but I also leave a few of them as they are to suit you!

Calling all 2026 brides - have you for your wedding jewellery yet??

As a 2026 bride myself (wtf) I absolutely don't so I'm starting to make some pieces with freshwater pearls in the shop and I thought you might like them too 😘

This sort of dainty jewellery can be customised for your dress, matching with your bridesmaids, colour scheme, whatever you need! Each pearl is individually hand wrapped with sterling silver or gold wire, this will keep your jewellery in place for your special day 🤍💐

Wedding planning can get very WHY HAVE YOU NOT DONE THIS so just to let you know I've always got some pieces made up ready in the shop and can work to whatever budget 🫡

Here's everything I made in my little jewellery shop this week as a 30 year old jeweller who likes to mix up styles and techniques 🧚🏻‍♀️

There's been a few more things that I've made this week that I couldn't share as their top secret commissions or works in progress 🫡

I have a little shop in .market and I love that I have my bench right behind the counter so I can make pieces in between serving customers doing business admin and drinking concerning amounts of coffee 🙃

I'd love to know which of these is your favourite I really like mixing up wire wrapping deed work and then more traditional silversmithing techniques to create really unique products for you, it also keeps my work interesting for me 🌝

The shop is open Wednesday to Saturday 11 till 4 or you can order online or DM me if you're interested in any pieces 🤍🤍🤍
