'twas a rocking good night last Tuesday at the Rockers Reunion's June hoe-down. "Rocking 58" laid it down at the start and kept it going all night. I don't know where they got their energy from, I was afraid to ask! The last time I was faintly tarred with the Moroccan black stuff, was way back in the mid-sixties in the back of an old ambulance being used as a group van by a well known soul band. We had made a 'pit-stop' on top of Caerphilly mountain after a gig in Comanche country ......
You know what they say, "What happens in Caerphilly stays in Caerphilly". ....ask Big Lyn.....
Guest Rocker was Sarah from the FABS. Top all-girl group (no bands back then) years before the Spice Girls. Sarah briefly addressed the audience with a few well chosen words, then happily posed for some photos with her gorgeous daughter and a couple of older rockers. Come back soon Sarah.
In the absence of Pan's People (still in Porthcawl I expect) an unexpected guest dancer, Cath, who shared her own brand of rock'n'roll. Cath danced her heart out and the band were suitably impressed.
Where else could you get such superb entertainment, chatting with family and friends for the price of a raffle ticket?
Finally, we can all look forward to the next Rockers Reunion on Tuesday 14th July.
'til then stay safe and ciao
