Just the most fun morning with Jemma from making some keum boo jewellery. This is just the most fun, beginner friendly process of fusing pure gold to pure silver. I've wanted to try this for years, and Jemma just made it really fun, and really easy. She is running a course here on the 15th November, and includes all the gold and silver in the price.

The beautiful results from an heirloom transformation in the workshop with M & T:

We took a family crest pendant and melted it down in the studio to form the raw gold ingot for both of their 18ct wedding bands.

Then, today we worked their gold into two wedding bands, made to fit.

They still have gold remaining from the melt, which we'll be using to craft a few extra custom pieces for their wedding day!

Just the most fun day with this lovely bunch! ✨

Today was all about making, experimenting and getting stuck in.

Most people came with wax-carved rings ready to cast, and it was so exciting seeing everyone's designs come to life.

We made cast-in-place gemstone rings, a sea glass pendant, a personalised bangle, and even cast a ring that had been carved by one of the girls' 10-year-old! 😍

One of the group also happened to be my old housemate, so it was extra special to have a proper catch-up while spending the day making together.

Days like these are exactly why I love running workshops. πŸ’›

TRANSFORMATION ✨

When Becci brought me her grandmother's brooch, she knew she wanted to create something special with her two nieces, but wasn't quite sure what.

After chatting through a few ideas, we decided on three stacking ring sets, each with a gold moonstone ring at the centre.

I had no idea quite how beautiful they would turn out. ✨

The brooch had been brought back from India and came with such a vibrant family story.

Knowing those moonstones will continue their journey, now worn every day by the next generation, makes this one feel incredibly special.

The biggest ring I've made so far! ✨ I absolutely loved creating this special piece for a 50th birthday. At a UK size 4 and 2.5mm thick, I had to come up with some different ways to shape it, but I enjoyed the challenge, and love the result πŸ’›

Such a lovely way to finish this term's evening jewellery classes, with so many beautiful pieces completed.

This week we had tube setting, Art Clay Silver, a rough quartz found locally being set into a ring, and the finishing touches on a ring that had been melted and forged, ready to become part of a bracelet.

There was also a slightly hairy moment when one of the gemstones, all ready to be set, mysteriously disappeared... Thankfully, after a very thorough search, I finally spotted it by the door! πŸ˜…

Apparently I've now earned the titles of Hawk Eyes and Hulk Hands πŸ˜‚

I'm already looking forward to the next block after a little summer break. Thank you all for another term full of creativity, laughter and beautiful jewellery. πŸ’›

I've been wondering if this is something I should offer as a workshop.. sea glass pendant making workshops, on the beach!? It was such a mindful little hour I had today, and was so satisfying and energising!

It was so lovely to receive this picture over the weekend!

I was really excited about this wedding, because I knew that the couple were going to hike their whole wedding party up a Scottish mountain to get married, with the registrar coming with them to officially marry them at the summit! They also had their baby in tow, who had also come along for the workshop, and who I got to have some lovely snuggles with during the ring making day.

I was so happy to hear that it all went well, the rings arrived up the mountain safely, and that the weather was good.

Our town πŸ€—

Really loving seeing Lord Rhys making his way through Cardigan this evening, and admiring his ring of course!

Wow, made it through a scorcher of a day, with a lot of cold water, a massive fan, and some good thick walls which kept it relatively cool in the workshop today, while we used fire to melt silver πŸ€ͺ

I had so much fun with Sophie and her mum, doing wax carving, cuff making, stacking ring making, casting, stamping and even pouring an ingot. We managed a lot in a short space of time, with a few projects left for me to finish πŸ˜€
