I buy Sterling silver and copper wire and sheet from reputable bullion merchants and add responsibly sourced freshwater pearl and gemstones (I never use coral) to create individual hand-made pendants, chunky chains, rings, bracelets, bangles and earrings. I'm always happy to discuss commissions for customers or to adapt current designs.

Now taking bookings for workshop studio sessions for 1 to 4 people in my cosy studio in Bishop’s Castle from mid-April.

Sessions available mid-week (including some evenings now the clocks have gone forward), some Saturdays and Sunday afternoons.

Given the high price of silver, I’m offering students the choice of copper & brass (for certain projects). With my lovely husband’s help (& in his workshop), I have twisted a metre of copper wire with the same length of brass wire for rings & bangles. This is ready for tomorrow afternoon’s workshop at The Hive in Welshpool.

The price of silver continues to rise. For that reason I will not be offering gift vouchers for the foreseeable future and workshop session prices may need to be reviewed.
If you have gift vouchers please use them within the validity period as I can’t promise to honour those which are out of date without an additional charge or a smaller project.

Just over ten years ago, when I set up Katie Flutie, silver wire and sheet cost about £340 per kg. I’ve just checked prices; it’s now nearly TEN times the price at £3369 per kg.
When I’m teaching, I’ll do my best to offer the best value so using thinner wire or sheet or using copper instead.

Thanks to all of my customers, students and venue hosts, for a fabulous year. I’m taking January off but back with a vengeance in February with new ideas and projects.

Unfortunately the price of silver has hit an all-time high so prices will need to rise a little but I’ll offer cheaper options wherever possible.

Many thanks to everyone who wished me a happy birthday yesterday, in person, by phone, card, gift or message. I was truly blown away by every one of them.

I had a super day - coffee & chocolates in bed, a day in Shrewsbury seeing The Choral, one of the very best films I’ve seen in a long time, with a group of delightful ladies, lunch, shopping then our out for curry with Mr T.
