A little piece of wedding tradition, with a little bit of history too. This sixpence dates all the way back to 1948 and has been turned into a special keepsake for a bride-to-be.
You may have heard the old wedding rhyme:
Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue… and a silver sixpence in her shoe.
The sixpence was traditionally placed in the bride’s shoe on her wedding day as a symbol of good luck, prosperity and happiness for the newlyweds.
I love the thought that this little 1948 coin has already been around for decades before being given a new purpose as part of someone’s wedding day. ✨
A tiny coin, an old tradition and a lovely little piece of history to keep forever.
