Job Vacancy - Activities Support Worker
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Activities Support Worker to join our well established team based in Colchester. We are looking for someone who naturally passionate about care is able to provide support during activities on and off site.
We are a dedicated specialist care provider offering supported living for adults with learning difficulties, epilepsy, autism and other additional needs.
We are looking for candidates who are naturally passionate about caring, reliable, take pride in their role and are able to promote independence whilst ensuring our workplace values remain at the heart of everything we do.
The Role:
• Responsible for supporting service users in their daily lives, respecting their choices, independence, dignity and wellbeing. As well as promoting service users involvement in all aspects of their lives.
• Responsible for delivering support with daily activities including support on a 1:1 , 2:1 and 3:1 basis and also support with all activities including in house, community, family visits & Health appointments.
• Responsible for delivering quality person-centred support and care on a day to day basis.
• Helping our service users attend planned activities such as shopping, college, swimming and the cinema.
• Interact with service users at all times to promote independence and choice is really important and ensuring they are safe at all times, cleaning and record keeping is also required.
The Person:
• Ability to work on your own initiative as well as part of a team and contribute to a positive environment with a can-do attitude even during challenging periods.
• Have a minimum of 1 year experience of working in a supported living setting.
• Possess excellent communication skills.
• Be compassionate with a caring nature.
• Current clean driving licence due to locations and activities.
• Demonstrate good knowledge and understanding of CQC standards (such as SOVA,MCA, KLOEs, 6C’s) – desirable
The Benefits:
• Working hours Monday to Friday - 40 hours per week
• Hourly rate £12.23 - £13.44ph (depending on experience & qualifications)
