I'm going to have to address the new spanner in the works!
Recently, I lost most of my EU custom due to GPSDR rules and it seems I may be about to lose my USA orders also, thanks to the removal of the ruling that allowed low value orders to be sent to the states without extortionate fees to pay.
This is a huge blow to myself and many small businesses - without getting too political, f*** you, Trump.
Orders to the USA are about a third of my total income. And I love and value each order that I get to send on its way over the pond - but what looks to be potentially a huge flat fee in order to do so will eliminate this custom entirely.
So what am I going to do?
Honestly. I have no idea.
From my understanding, we have til the end of the month before we know more and all this comes into effect so my current plan is to get all current orders to the states out ASAP.
If it becomes apparent that you'd be slapped with a nasty surprising fee to receive your order, I'll cancel before sending.
But my biggest plan is to hope and pray that the president changes his mind about this before then. I doubt it hugely, and I'm mentally preparing to say goodbye to basically all international custom. But we can only cross our fingers at this point.
