Activate Switch Ltd is looking for enthusiastic, flexible, and professional people with some experience in hospitality and event work. All applicants must be over 18.
We have a few interesting projects coming up for the summer, primarily in Cowes.

Required:

• Bar managers – Running a small team, till management, opening and closing of a venue.
• Food operatives – Basic food preparation, ideally with NVQ food hygiene qualification but not essential.
• Bar/waiting staff – experience would be a benefit
• General handyman- carpentry background preferential, event setup and rip down assistance.

The positions are for the summer season, roughly the start of June to the end of September, with a spike of activity around Cowes week and the school holidays. As with everything these positions are dependent on the Covid restrictions lifting as predicted, please be aware our requirements may change.

Cowes Week has appointed Activate Switch to manage the Regatta Village on Cowes Parade for the coming years, with a view to improving the standard of presentation and the content of the Regatta Village.

Two new initiatives for the Village, include the Cowes Week Clubhouse and Crew Bar. The Clubhouse will be a multi-purpose structure, open during the day as an info-point, as well as providing a base for owner’s and sponsors to meet. Meanwhile the Crew Bar will be housed in a large covered marquee, with an integrated stage and screen, providing the hub for daily entertainment, presentations and prize-giving’s, no matter the weather.

In addition to these exhibits, the Parade will once again be home to a wide range of exhibitors and retailers, promoting their wares to the viewing public and adding to this relaxed and convivial atmosphere.

Plans are afoot too, for the daily entertainment programme, with a view to bringing back some of the classic street entertainers and acts, which add so much colour and fun to proceedings.

The Regatta Village will be open daily between the 31st July and the 8th August and includes both Cowes Week and the start of the Rolex Fastnet Race.
