Coming up on Monday 1st June...
The club are delighted to welcome back John Graham, Jim Jack and Cy Jack. On previous visits to the Glenfarg Folk Club, they have never failed to deliver an evening of great music, fun and entertainment.
John was a founder member of The Clydesiders in 1968 and remained with them till they became inactive in 2000. Initially the fiddler in the band, John developed into a multi-instrumentalist and now plays a range of instruments.
Jim started his folk song career in Edinburgh with The Portlands before moving to Glasgow and playing for many years in Carterhall. Jim plays guitar and shares the vocal duties with John.
A talented musician and recording engineer, Cy has years of experience playing music in a range of genres. He played bass regularly with the Clydesiders during the 1980’s and was involved in many of their recordings. In addition to his talents as a musician Cy is in a songwriting partnership with Clydesiders member Duncan McCrone.

The Glenfarg Folk Club A.G.M. will be held on Monday, 25 May 2026 starting at 8pm, (Doors open at 7.30pm).

The A.G.M. is one of the most important nights of the year for the Club, a night when you get the chance to have your say about the management of the Club and to elect its office bearers for the next year. We would ask you to find the time to attend the meeting and to offer your support, your opinions, as well as your thoughts on the way forward.

Monday 18 May sees the welcome return of the wonderful Edwina Hayes to the Glenfarg Folk Club stage.

Edwina brings together English folk, Americana and the rich northern singer-songwriter tradition to create a sound that’s truly her own.

Highly accomplished, she’s toured with such notable performers as Jools Holland, Van Morrison, Nanci Griffith and Loudon Wainwright III to name just a few.

Mike Harding is among her many fans, and the title track of her album Pour Me A Drink was covered by Nanci Griffith who calls her “the sweetest voice in England”.

Her cover of the Randy Newman song Feels Like Home was featured in the Cameron Diaz film My Sister’s Keeper and has since had over 20 million plays on Spotify and 2.7 million plays on YouTube.

Don’t miss the chance to come and see her live, at The Glenfarg Folk Club

On Monday 11 May 2026, we have a singaround with a theme of Water. It is a theme dripping with possibilities. The world of folk is awash with songs that are connected with water. From seafaring shanties to songs about rivers, lochs and lakes, to rain, to whisky – the water of life, to canals, to wells, to floods, to drownings, to swimming, to aquatic creatures. But keep your adult themed H2O songs until after the watershed.

Listeners and joinyinners always welcome. Come along, make a splash, and then give us a wave as you head home at the end of the night.

THE BROTHERS GILLESPIE
The Brothers Gillespie have travelled far and wide with their music and have played Cambridge, Sidmouth and Moseley Folk Festivals and opened for Lankum and Sam Lee. In Spring 2022 they released ‘The Merciful Road’ (‘pure magic’, Living Tradition), inspired by the grace of life in troubled times and recorded in a cottage by the banks of the river Tweed. Like their previous album ‘The Fell’, it blends rootsy, acoustic elements to create a rich warm sound with a touch of vintage magic. 2024 saw them release the collaborative album ‘Hirondelle’ (featuring string ensemble Trio Mythos and Occitanie vocal group Tant Que Li Siam) and they are currently touring throughout the UK and getting ready to record a new album for release in 2026.
