A wee bit of up-skilling today, with flush setting practice. This is an Oakleaf adjustable band I’d made for myself, but thought it needed a bit of sparkle. I’ve flush set the tiny 2mm Amethyst, but who knows I could probably end up setting more around it 😆

It’s really hard not to share when I’ve completed a special piece. Finished yesterday in time for my sisters birthday, but she was celebrating today, so I had to wait!!

The plan right now is to bring these into the shop tomorrow, but they’re really screaming keep me! 🫣 there’s so much vibrancy in these two little amber stones when light hits them, no need for a fancy setting, just a simple sterling cup.

I popped into St Columba’s Heritage Centre with more stock. Im very grateful to the centre for including my Doire pieces, a reminder of St Columba and his ancient oakwood from which our city takes its name. These pieces are available at the heritage centre shop, which helps fund Aras-Long Tower. Make sure and call in to see the St Columba and Sister Clare exhibition, check out their holy shop and finish off with a cuppa in Cloisters cafe downstairs (fully accessible)

Wee pre-holiday treat to my-self. As a silver jeweller, I rarely wear gold, but I fancied a change that works with dressing up and casual. I’ve created a layered effect, but just one necklace. The two layers mean even if I’m wearing a slightly higher neckline, a little bit of sparkle will sit above it, and then the lower neckline shows off both levels of the necklace. This one is 9kt Gold fill with with an Aquamarine.

Roses are Red, some Topaz are Blue, share to the one, that should get this for you! (I crack myself up 😅) I just had to show you this gorgeous Teal blue Topaz, set in handcrafted Sterling Silver. The checkerboard cut makes it super eye-catching, and I just love the richness of colour. This is a size ukN, and currently the only one available at Derry Designer Makers.

Sometimes I feel like I should pinch myself, when I meet people who collect my jewellery, complete strangers! And often from all around the globe. To find that when something I have an idea for and then make, is what someone falls in love with, is just an amazing thing, every time. 😊
