Restoring a cherished heirloom for the next generation. ✨

This sentimental signet ring, a gift from our client to her grandson, had worn paper-thin and the engraving was nearly lost. Watch our goldsmith Lyn bring it back to life using traditional bench techniques:

⚒️ The Restoration Process:

• Filled in the worn face with solder to create a smooth surface

• Cut away the thin, worn shank and milled a thick, new band

• Shaped, fitted, and soldered the heavy new shank in place

• Added the personal touch of a hand-engraved initial

• Final clean and motor-polish for a mirror shine

This sentimental piece is now ready for many more years of daily wear.

Mark is a master of his craft, excelling in creating bespoke jewellery and turning your vision (no matter how obscure) into reality. His expertise in restorations is unparalleled; he can completely remake worn rings, restoring them to their original beauty. Our client visited the workshop wanting to remodel a trilogy ring into a chunky statement piece that reflected her unique style and love for bold jewellery. Mark dedicated hours meticulously experimenting with various metal-melting techniques to achieve this bespoke reticulated texture. The piece features three old-cut diamonds set asymmetrically in rub-over collets, with yellow gold detailing and oxidisation cleverly used to highlight the unique finish of this showstopper of a ring!

Have you ever looked down at your hand only to realise the stone in your treasured ring is missing?

Here at The Jewellery Workshop, we want to help you prevent that heartbreak before it happens. Here are three warning signs to check for at home:

1.Worn or flat claws: Are the prongs of metal holding your stone looking thin, flattened, or even completely missing?

2. Any movement: If you gently run a pair of tweezers across the top (table) of the stone, does it tilt or wobble?

3. Catching or sharp edges: Is your jewellery snagging on clothing or feeling unusually sharp to the touch? This usually means a claw has lifted away or is wearing thin.

In this reel, you can see our jeweller Lyn meticulously adding all new claws to this diamond solitaire, giving the piece a new lease of life and securing the diamond for years to come.

We are delighted that The Jewellery Workshop has been shortlisted for the Community Engagement of the Year Award at the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ) Awards. 🏆✨

This recognition means the world to us, especially as we celebrate our 50th anniversary by giving back to the local community that has supported us for half a century.

A key highlight of this milestone year was the launch of The Heritage Collection, and we believe this collection, which honours 50 years of exemplary craftsmanship, is one of the reasons we’ve been nominated as finalists.

Featured in this photo are three standout pieces from the collection, each featuring vibrant cabochon green tourmalines set in swirling 9ct yellow gold. Inspired by the distinctive style of our late founder, John Cameron Price, every piece was crafted by hand in our Norfolk workshop.
