Happy Monday! I hope you had a lovely weekend and enjoyed the weather 🌞

I'm on my 3rd coffee, slightly tired after spending 2 hrs delivering these for the Whiteknights Studio Trail, but it really helps bring lots of visitors, it was lovely and sunny and I got 14k steps in, so it's a win all around!

This year the is supporting Reading Climate Festival 2023. The trail is running the whole weekend, with 37 artists across 27 venues, on and surrounding the uni campus, with free parking on campus. I will be at venue 16, so do pop in and say hello if you can!

Hello! 👋 I've decided to do my first ever Meet The Maker Post! I've been 'missing in action' for a while and had a few more followers recently, so I thought it high time I introduced myself!

I'm Lisa, creator of Molten Silver, hand-maker of organic style, sustainable jewellery.

I love all kinds of outdoors and nature. This very much ties in with the Molten Silver ethos, having fallen in love with using molten techniques to create organic textures and form found in a natural environment.

Sustainability is very important to me. I use only recycled precious metals, FSC certified, plastic-free packaging and renewable energy. I'm a total recycling nerd and recycle, re-use or upcycle all materials possible in both my home and business.

Other than that I'm a mum to an 18 year old, soon to take his A levels and zip off to Uni.. so trying to keep busy and fend off the looming empty nest!

I'm partner of the very talented Mr B, who shares my love of the 'great outdoors' and provides huge practical support. Not least by building and fitting out my workshop and creating every piece of furniture and display equipment used in Molten Silver. He's not a social media fan, but if you look closely he's in one pic getting drenched with me on top of a mountain.

I'm an animal lover, esp. my furry workshop companion, Madame Meowski. I adore my garden and its tropical look plants. I love all kinds of creative crafts, yoga, gargoyles, glamping and bright cheerful colours.

Hello and Happy Easter! 🐣🐰🐑 Hope you're having a lovely Good Friday. I'm currently busy making some last minute pieces for the tomorrow, having only signed up on Wednesday! Hello folks, how's January treating you? Well, I hope!
I'm always slow to get going, with my birthday so early in the year and dreaded tax return to complete - from scratch 😫. It's also very quiet in my shop at this time, but having recently discovered 'in-person' events work well for me, I've spent time researching and applying for some more. One being a local studio trail with around 40 artists, in June.
I was trying not to get my hopes up as the standard is high! I had to submit a portfolio and a CV to a selection committee, (with only limited stock post Christmas!)
I'm thrilled to say I've been accepted and it's given me a huge boost and something to look forward to! 🙌🎉

A nearly happy New Year to you! Just sharing a couple of Christmas commissions, now that I'm not spoiling any surprises - A pair of silver and baroque pearl hoops and a silver pebble wrap ring for two lovely young ladies. I'm rather proud of the hinged hoops, my first pair and rather fiddly!

Due to the impact of postal strikes, I will be closing to Christmas orders on Thursday 15th December.

I will only be listing 'in stock' items from Thursday, so they can be posted by Friday 16th.

I provide free First Class Signed For postage as standard in my Etsy Shop, which usually has a delivery of 1- 2 business days. If you want to be safer there is the option to upgrade to Special Delivery, at a discounted rate, as this is being prioritised by the Royal Mail.

Local orders (collection only), will be open until Monday 18th December, with collection up to the 23rd.

Got a 16th, 18th or 21st birthday to buy for? How about a dainty hammered bangle with a ring for each year? This slim but sturdy hammered bangle, has been made in recycled silver and has flattened rings, subtly textured from an ancient hammer inherited from my dear dad. It's pits and dents from a lifetime of making and mending transferred into each ring.

These are soon to be added to my shop - not that I'm on point with my shop edits at this time of year, so please do PM if interested in the meantime.
For 'big' birthdays or anniversaries my shop already offers decade bangles with a ring for every 10 years.

Introducing these gorgeous molten texture bar pendant and earrings. The texture is created by my favourite process of reticulation. This enables me to melt and move just the surface of the silver, creating these beautiful ripples. Quite a lengthy process as I have to heat and clean the surface of the silver multiple times, but I think it's totally worth it. I hope you agree!

It was reading about things like this that made me switch switched to recycled silver for my jewellery some time ago. It's not just about the environment, it's about not supporting large corporations who callously decimate the lands and water sources of indigenous people, exploit their workforces and have no regard for the massive human cost of their actions.
