Oorla Jewellery Shimmering handmade silver, gold and gemstone jewellery inspired by nature’s perfect imperfection.

I am fascinated by the beauty in detail- colour, pattern and texture in the natural world inspire me. I work with the best materials I can source- sterling silver, fine silver, Hill Tribe silver, gold filled and beautiful sparkling gemstones from around the world.

Well this is rather exciting.. and definitely made me do a little happy dance!
I’m so chuffed to have been selected to feature in the very first ‘Made in Molesey’ series for the Molesey Enquirer magazine, celebrating creative makers doing their thing locally. ❤️

This is the October issue of Molesey Enquirer magazine. Check it out online.

It’s lovely to see local makers being celebrated and I’m ridiculously happy that Oorla Jewellery gets to be part of it.

And here it is!

A little peek inside the article where I get to chat about my inspiration, making by hand & being part of a fab local community. ⭐️

A huge thank you to Molesey Enquirer for including me in your magazine & for shining a light on local creative businesses. ❤️

Feeling very proud to be Made in Molesey.

Have a read if you fancy finding out a little more about Oorla Jewellery.

And check out the magazine if you’d like to learn more about the wonderful village of Molesey! Lots of interesting articles.

It’s the first Autumn market in Thames Ditton tomorrow!

10-2pm Mercer Close

I’ll be hot footing it from Ireland to be there. I WILL be needing LOTS of coffee!

Really looking forward to catching up with everyone.

Come down and see the pieces I’ve been working on over the summer.

Would you like to wear a little reminder of the sea when you’re back at work?

Rockpool bracelet handmade in recycled sterling silver, kyanite, and a tiny shell cast from real Cornish treasure, finished with a teeny pearl.

Keep the ocean with you always. 🌊

And a bit of Dolly for good measure.

I think it’s about time for a re introduction and the lovely Martha from is running an Instagram challenge this week which I’m already late for 😬😬😬

If you’d told teacher-me thirty years ago that I’d one day spend my working days melting silver, talking to gemstones and getting ridiculously excited about interesting tree bark, I’d probably have laughed. 😂

But here we are!

Building Oorla Jewellery has never been just about making pretty things. It’s been about creating jewellery that feels good in every sense of the word.

I wanted to make pieces that don’t turn black after a handful of wears, don’t leave your ears bedding for mercy and aren’t destined to sit forgotten in a jewellery box.

Instead, every piece is handmade by me in recycled sterling silver using beautiful natural gemstones, inspired by the wonderfully wonky textures, flowing lines and tiny imperfections I find in nature.

No two leaves are identical, no two gemstones are the same and I think that’s exactly where the magic lies.

Whether you’re treating yourself, marking a milestone or searching for a meaningful gift, my hope is that every piece becomes something you reach for again and again for years to come.

Thank you for supporting handmade, small businesses and the rather messy creative dream behind Oorla Jewellery.

It genuinely means the world. 💚

I’m just getting stock ready for this weekend’s markets -

(Thames Ditton Saturday 10-2pm, Claygate Sunday 11-3 pm)

and wondering if anyone would like to see any of these designs as ankle chains?

Each has an individually handmade charm with a sunray stamp on both sides .

The single coloured ones are crystal & recycled sterling silver , the multi coloured one is gemstones & glass & recycled sterling silver.

It’s too hot to solder - I tried & failed all day yesterday (turns out it actually isn’t just uncomfortable but impossible to use solder paste in these temperatures! 🥵🥵🥵)

I’ve been obsessively checking the weather all week but it hasn’t improved so unfortunately I’ve had to postpone my pop up at Thames Ditton Bakery tomorrow. 😢
I highly recommend popping over there to pick up some delicious bread though! 🍞🥖🥐🥯🥨
