I was near the Sheila Fleet Jewellery store in Edinburgh and thought, I have to go in! because I’m such a big fan — I follow her and absolutely love her jewellery.
When I was on the first floor admiring the art, someone asked me, “Can we help you?” and I said, “No, I just came to appreciate Sheila’s jewellery because I’m such a huge fan.” Then they told me, “Oh, if you’d like to see her, she’s upstairs.” I couldn’t believe it — I ran upstairs right away!
I asked Sheila if I could take a photo with her, as I had even been thinking of going all the way to Orkney to see her and her workshop. She kindly said, “Of course.” She was so warm, approachable, and generous — she even shared advice on different paths I could take in metal jewellery-making. I was honestly fascinated by her kindness and humanity.
It made me realise even more that true success is deeply connected to human quality — at least that’s my opinion. Without it, success means very little.
Afterwards, I went back down to admire her stunning collection and left with a huge smile, feeling inspired and grateful. Thank you, Sheila — now I’m an even bigger fan than I was before! 💙✨
