Moira Patience Fine Jewellery Moira Patience is a Scottish fine jewellery designer with a love of unusual natural gemstones, old-cut diamonds and beautifully made things.

Her bespoke and one-of-a-kind pieces are handcrafted in Scotland. In an age where anyone can buy anything - the same goods from the same brands all over the world, Moira is invested in creating truly exceptional, one-off pieces of jewellery, which are the very essence of luxury and elegance.

Over the past 13 years or so, I've created thousands of bespoke pieces, and certain ideas have stayed with me.

Looking back through old sketchbooks, it's interesting to see how those ideas have gradually evolved into the familiar silhouettes I keep coming back to and refining.

We release just a handful of finished pieces each month, and if there's a Signature design you love, it can also be made to order with your choice of natural gemstone, metal and personal touches. 🖤

Uisge (pronounced oosh-geh) is a new three-stone Signature design featuring a beautiful octagonal step-cut aquamarine.

Set in platinum with a pair of carré-cut diamonds, it's a slightly more structured and geometry take on my Arc setting. I love the broad, open facets of this stone and the flashes of pale blue as it moves in the light. 🖤

Oss (pronounced Osh) is a new Signature design with a slightly more botanical expression of my Petal setting.

Carved leaves flow up the shoulders towards a beautiful old mine cut diamond, chosen for its subtle warmth and wonderful vintage character.

The slightly irregular facets give the stone that lively twinkle that makes antique diamonds so distinctive. 🖤

A self-confessed gemstone geek, Meg joined the team in 2019, bringing with her a wealth of knowledge and a lifelong fascination with fossils, minerals and gemstones.

Meg studied Geology at the University of Edinburgh and is fully a qualified gemmologist and diamond grader. She assesses and grades the natural gemstones and diamonds we source, bringing an expert eye to every stone that passes through the studio.

Beyond all the expertise, she brings kindness, humour and a genuine love of gemstones to everything she does. 🖤

Coloured gemstone engagement rings aren’t really a new thing…

In fact, they’ve been around for centuries, but even still, choosing colour can feel like a bold choice. My clients R & J came to us with the most exciting ideas and inspiration, and I love that they did not hold back.

For this bespoke engagement ring, we created an aurora-inspired cluster around a spectacular purple sapphire, with a wee halo of diamonds in the middle.

Each sapphire was specially cut for the design. Not the easiest approach, but totally worth the effort. We also added a pattern hidden beneath the halo as a subtle nod to the couple’s heritage.

Sapphires are one of my favourites, so this was a joy to create. 🖤

This design lived in my head for years before I finally found the right stone to bring it to life.

Sòlas is centred around a natural Sri Lankan sapphire in the most beautiful shade of ice blue. We set specially cut diamonds into the split shank to create an almost seamless wall of sparkle around it.

I love how the clean lines and symmetry are softened by subtle petal detailing under the setting. 🩵
