Today’s repair adventure:
A gentleman arrived with his spectacles firmly held together by what looked like half a roll of Sellotape.

He was right about one thing — jewellers DO have tiny screwdrivers! We tightened a hinge screw, fitted a new nose pad, and had his specs back together in jiffy.

Sometimes the repair takes two minutes… and the Sellotape takes ten! 😄

it was the ultimate timepiece, the Rolex of the playground, the top‑tier, sugar‑powered status symbol.

You’d nibble the strap, save the “clock face” for last, and check the “time” every five seconds…

Produced in January 1981 — now over 45 years old and still keeping perfect time! This Seiko 6030‑5080 is a little piece of early‑80s design history: clean, angular lines, subtle two‑tone detailing, and a smart pinstripe dial. Today we fitted a fresh, high‑quality battery so it can keep telling stories on the wrist for years to come.

Looking back at 1981: the nation celebrated the Wedding of Prince Charles and Lady Diana Spencer; runners took part in the very first London Marathon; and the Sinclair ZX81 helped kickstart the home‑computer boom. This watch has been ticking away through all of it.
