MEET THE ARTIST... Garry Parsons

We recently caught up with artist & illustrator, Garry Parsons, for a cup of tea and a chat. As well as being the illustrator of a well known children's book series, Garry has always maintained a fine art practice, and is passionate about drawing, especially with charcoal. Good framing should enhance, but not take over. We like to mirror details from the art in the frame itself. Love how the carving here reflect the scales on the mermaid's tail. 🙌 🧜‍♀️

So, we're just going to call it now. Our favourite Frame of the Year! Triple stacked, bespoke handpainted yumminess for this fab limited edition Beatles print. Black suedette mount for some spaced-out contrast and Artglass for clarity 🤩

Recently framed pair from the 'Hyperaccumulator' series by , exhibited at the this year. They are made with crushed lcd screens.

In the third image you can just about see the spacers, that we have matched to the colour of the flower veins, keeping the museum off the print.

One of a recently completed set of Tom Lewis .beasts prints for a private collector - a modern but distressed frame with a touch of gold to echo details in the image. Plus Artglass to show them off at their best.

We are always happy to receive a batch of .ganatra's work to frame. 🙂

For his large canvases, we've developed a bespoke framing style, using a colourful, handpainted recessed slip, working with the colours in the painting, then adding a second frame of gold beading, and wrapping it all together with a tall, gold and black outer third frame, giving them a regal look. 👑

For his watercolors on paper, we play with the vibrancy, adding colourful mounts and simple, stained black ash frames. Head over to his profile and follow for info on upcoming exhibitions, print releases etc 🙌
