Today was Workshop Wednesday for Fah! 🤗

She booked in to make stacking rings. She had not made any jewellery before but she watched, listened, followed my steps and finished with three lovely stacking rings! 🩶

She textured on with the line hammered finish, one with the glitter hammered finish and the star focal ring was left plain to contrast between the other two rings 🔨

Fah is joining me, along with another lady for the Ribbon Twist ring making workshop this Sunday at 4pm, there is one more space left 🎀

If you would like to make stacking rings, the next workshop is on Sunday 1st November at 3.30pm 🩶

I didn’t do very well at having a day off today! 🥴

Waking up to an email telling me to expect a delivery at the shop between 12.30-1.30 was a bit inconvenient! Anyway, I made myself busy while I was waiting. I finished all of the design sheets to go with the workshops gift vouchers and emailed them to the printers, they will all be at the shop ready for the weekend.

This evening, I have added Workshop Gift Vouchers to the website. You can order a workshop gift voucher online for a set piece of jewellery and receive a lovely gift voucher and design sheet to give to your loved one, leaving them to set a date to suit them. You could even drop a massive hint to your nearest and dearest that you would like a gift voucher too! 🤗

You can make these rings! 🤗

I still have a couple of spaces available for Workshop Wednesday for complete beginners to make their own stacking rings. No experience necessary as I will do a demo and take you through the process step by step.

You will make three sterling silver rings, two plain and one focal ring with the detail of your choice - heart, star or pebble. You can customise the rings with a textured hammered effect too. At the inSilver and Gold shop, 65 The Old High Street, Folkestone.

🩶 Wednesday 21st October at 10am.
🩶 Priced at £160 per person, includes the silver and workshop time.
🩶 Strictly age 16 and over due to insurance purposes.
🩶 Duration approximately 4 hours.
🩶 Tea, coffee and biscuits included.
🩶 Maximum of 4 people per group.
🩶 Learn a new skill.
🩶 A friendly and relaxing space.

Another commission was collected yesterday, made from another hoard melted down from a metal detectorist! 🪎

I was given around 270 grams of silver that was found over the years, some lucky finds! Not all of it was suitable for the melt, but we had double the amount needed in the end to make husband and wife torque bangles! 🤗

These were a lovely heavy weight, 12mm wide and 2.2mm thick. His was plain and hers was glitter hammered. Another satisfying commission! 🔨

The shop is open today from 10.30-5 and tomorrow, 11-4.

Instead, you would like to join my beginners jewellery making workshop to make your own stacking rings! To spend time learning a new skill, to forget about the mundane day to day, to switch off and do something mindful and leave, wearing your three beautiful sterling silver rings that you made ✨

I have got two spaces left in the Stacking ring workshop in Wednesday 21st October at 10am. inSilver and Gold, 65 The Old High Street. Folkestone.

I start with a demo, you choose your focal piece for the centre ring, then we work step by step creating the bands and adding textured hammered effects if you wish - and very therepeutic it is too! In a small group (no more than four), we will drink tea or coffee, eat biscuits and enjoy chit chat. All of this is yours for £160. Around four hours of enjoyable peace! I do love doing commissions… but sometimes I want to keep them! 😍

I had a request from Beth a little while ago. She was looking for a dish shaped ring as she had a similar shaped pendant, but hadn’t had any luck with finding it as a ring. We discussed the size required - she wanted it to be quite a statement piece! She also wanted it to be glitter hammered. I checked her ring size and ordered the silver 📮

Roll on a few weeks and the ring was in progress. I really enjoyed making it as it required tools that I hadn’t used in a long time! It all went together beautifully and the ring was soon complete 🔨

Beth collected the ring earlier this week, it’s fair to say she was delighted with it! The concave dish shape glistens and dances as the hammered effect catches the light. It really is a beautiful piece - and luckily for Beth, her ring size didn’t fit me! ✨

The inSilver and Gold shop is open from 10.30-5 today and tomorrow, then it’s 11-4 on Sunday. 65 The Old High Street, Folkestone.

Sometimes in life, you find someone with shared dreams to create something amazing. Meet my friend Jo, creator and founder of Joyem!

Jo and I met when I had my shop in the midlands, she commissioned me to make a special pendant. Jo told me how she longed to create her own fragrance business. Her vision was quality, lasting fragrances - candles, reed diffusers and wax melts, in beautiful high end packaging that didn’t cost the earth.

Jo made this happen! In the early days, I stocked her fabulous coconut candles and reed diffusers, she made at home from her kitchen. They smelt amazing and she was working on the visual side, the beautiful packaging. A short time later, Jo presented me with candles and reed diffusers with her elegant black branding and from there, her success has flourished 🖤

She opened her own shop at Middleton Hall, Tamworth and produced all of her products on site. The fabulous aroma of the shop lures you in. The branding outside the shop, the striking black interior, luxurious glass reed diffusers and glass packaged candles just ooze style and demands acknowledgement! 🖤

My beachside stroll yesterday filled me with inspiration! ♥️🌊💚

There’s something that draws me to seaweed! I have my seaweed collection that I cast from storm dispersed seaweed, but the colours in the seaweed have wooed me in several times now 🧜‍♀️

When I got back to the shop yesterday, I laid out my collection of seaweed varieties, it had inspired me to colour match with my gemstone collection 💚♥️

Rich claret shade Rhodolite Garnets, unusual green Tsavorite Garnet, blue Topaz , green Tourmaline, aqua coloured Kyanite, green Emerald and a whopper of a blue Labradorite 🌊

I have got my work cut out! 🧜‍♀️
