Sandcasting day today.

Today is the first time I've done my own wax carving and sandcasting for a while. I spend far more time supervising and guiding other people's adventures in sandcasting, than I do casting my own work!

I tried to remember to hit the record button on all the stages and I *think* I got pretty much everything except cutting the button from the ring (that's the big lump of excess metal at the top of the pour).

I wish I could do the whole process as quickly in real life, but the reality is that these condensed 2 minutes took at least an hour and a half. And that's not counting the mug of tea, at least 3 toilet trips, the postie knocking, the dog eating 2 plants and digging a hole in the garden, making some toast for child number 3 at home recovering from a nasty migraine and at least 2 side quests, including a quick sand cast ring for myself! Busy day 🤣🙌🏻💪🏻☕️

I had lots of fun and reckon I might break out the wax and sandcasting kit again soon.
