Back home after a lovely break out west in Assynt, north west Scottish Highlands 😊 We had one gorgeous weather day ☀️ We visited Knockan Crag - fascinating geology! Then over to the glorious Achmelvich beach. My daughter kindly collected some beautiful textures for me on the far beach that I couldn't manage the scramble down to (due to ongoing balance issues) 🥰 And one beautiful sunset 🌅

Beautiful signs of spring springing up in our garden - I love the teeny daffodils and the first blossom buds on our gorgeous cherry tree 🌸🌳🏡🌼 And less than a week til the clocks go forward!

It's catch-up week for me on the Diploma in Fine Jewellery! Quite a few projects to finish by the end of November 😵‍💫 but I know I can do it if I just keep plugging away 😊 I did the first diploma during lockdown so it's definitely doable!

Lots of tricky new skills underway this term:

🔥 Reticulation and keum boo - this pendant and ring were heated/melted several times before applying gold leaf

🦞 These little claw settings are so tricksy - cushion, pear, round...and the oval one collapsed so will need to re-do that and finish these

💎 The components of claw-set drop earrings ...still a way to go with these!

🍐 Loving these wee pear collet settings - also still a lot to do.

Looking forward to incorporating some of these skills into my designs in the future 😍

Delighted to deliver another 5 ring pendant last week, this time to celebrate 50 years of marriage!

It's an honour to play a small part in marking these important milestones, and I hope the recipient enjoys wearing this for years to come 😊

Recycled sterling silver and hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office, this pendant has a lovely tactile weight to it.

On this slightly frosty morning in the Highlands, I'm really needing a reminder of sunshine and sea! I love the beaches on the Moray Coast - this is Nairn west beach - look at those colours! We're lucky to live just 45ish minutes drive from there. On the day these photos were taken, it was warm, flat calm water and we even spotted a couple of basking sharks from the shore.

Blue therapy on the grid - enjoy! 💙
