š„ Basic Wire Making Tip: How you hold your flame matters
When annealing wire, avoid holding your flame directly at a 90° angle and concentrating the heat in one small area. By angling the flame downwards, the heat travels across a greater length of the wire, creating a wider and more even heat distribution.
This helps prevent isolated hot spots and gives a more consistent anneal throughout the piece ā especially important when preparing wire for drawing, forming, or further manipulation.
Small changes in technique like this are what help create better control and more predictable results at the bench. š„
